Kaolin Hisui [alt. entry: Demitasse Ballotin]
Type: Dark Chocolate/Lunar Silver/Silver
In my own experience, the man once known as Demitasse Ballotin is a good man and very proffessional, while placing a surprising amount of concern in the welfare of those around him. As one of his employees I was treated as a close member of the family, even without my attachment to his brother Mirroir. He is reliable, steadfast, dangerous, and charming- very much befitting one of Ogre's children. He has his flaws, of course (arrogance being at the top of the list), but overall I found him worth overlooking these negatives. Of all of Ogre's children. He was the first to call the scientist 'Father,' and as far as I know continues to do so to this day. He looks up to Ogre, and was at last investigation willing to do anything needed by the man. Kaolin is bonded to Fai Li Hisui.
Leo Hisui [alt. entry: Blanc Medaillon Ballotin-Hisui]
Type: Ruby [DRAGON GENE]
The only son of Kaolin Hisui and Fai Li Hisui. Survived the fall of Imperial at the age of five, and somehow managed to keep himself alive until meeting his half-brother Sakito about twenty years later. While no one knows much about this young man, this survival implies that he inherited his family's intelligence and resistance to the elements. In appearance he resembles Kaolin, but his nature apparently follows Fai Li. Currently, he is employed by the Elysian military- it seems he does not have the preference for business Kaolin enjoys.
Alain Merrindale
Type: Rune (Sohwilo) [EMPEROR GENE]
Oldest son of Sevelin Merrindale and Urien. Known for one of the most dramatc decisions in history, Alain made the decision at the age of 18 to use a very rare ability called 'SoulGraft' and bond himself to Lilith's mind. His reasoning, apparently, was that he would be the balance that kept Lilith from killing at will- and also the means to destory the man if necessary. He was figuratively dragged along when Lilith created his Nine, becoming one of his top 'minions' as the man slowly corrupted his mind. Whether this change was voluntary or unwilling, no one is certain. He bonded to Sakito Li, another member of the Nine, and now has five children (the highest number of offspring on record for any Dou). With Lilith's reappearance, Alain and Sakito seem to have gone back into his service. It is my belief that living without Lilith in his mind was very hard on Alain, even with Sakito bonded to his heart.
Nefarsin Li Merrindale
Type: Silk ((Emperor of Shadow)) [EMPEROR AND DRAGON GENES]
Oldest son of Alain Merrindale and Sakito Li. Nefarsin has trained extensively in martial arts since he was a very small child, to the point of being completely focused on the art of the ninja. Currently he is in training with the assassin Spicata, though it is believed that he will shortly begin taking jobs of his own. He seems to have Alain's easygoing nature, while taking after Sakito in appearance. He is the only Doushikai aside from his grandfather, Fai Li, to have shown the dragon-headwings trait.
Morgandy Li Merrindale
Type: Monsoon [EMPEROR AND DRAGON GENES]
Second son of Alain Merrindale and Sakito Li. Morgandy seems to have taken all of his appearance from the Emperor line; his looks are drastically different from those of his family (pale blue skin, heavy blue curls, lightning touched eyes). He does, however, carry Alain's thirst from knowledge and Sakito's perfection at what path he chooses to follow. Influenced at a very young age by what is rumored to be a strange dream and a doll, he has thrown his life into finding more information about this world, which he calls 'Pallida.' When asked, Ogre apparently knew nothing about it- I am not certain if he was being entirely honest. Morgandy is currently missing, which implies that he found something of what he was looking for.

Type: Ivory Dragon [DRAGON GENE]
Once a serious rival to the woman known as Luan, Shiro slowly became very protective of his wise rival and a very close friend to the Li Clan. This move was cemented when he fell in love with Luan's last student, Lao Ren, and the man has since become an everyday presence that can be relied upon for assistance just like any other member of the Clan. He watched Fai, Seraph, and Edrienne grow up, and therefore treats them like an amused uncle or much older brother. Shiro uses a slightly more French-influenced sword style, though he carries a katana; this strange mix of styles prompted Edri to try his hand with the rapier he uses now. Though arrogant and overly-fond of his own appearance, Shiro is devoted to protecting the legacy Luan left behind- especially if it involves his old infatuation and friend, Mah.
Rekuen Schallen
Type: Prism
When this slender man attained his CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license, he had the guts to walk into Ogre's office and tell him exactly why he thought he oculd handle his creator's accounts. Evidently it worked, because he managed them until the man 'died' on Imperial; his expertise also attracted the attention of the Ballotin empire and the Broken Lotus syndicate, as well as many other affluent clients. Surviving the fall of Imperial made him something more than a walking calculator, as well, and he joined the Li Clan as they changed continents. Along the way he fell for the mysterious (and cuddly) Mah, becoming devoted to the man in a way that had little to do with surviving. They currently live together and are helping raise the youngerst Li Merrindale son, Tiergan. Rekuen is very pale of skin, but has extremely bright, rainbow-colored hair- this has caused him to wear a coat with a hood and black gloves from most of his life in an effort to blend. I miss working with Reku, his numbers are unfailingly accurate and his efficiency commendable. He plays a nasty hand of poker, too.
Edrienne Kalakos
Type: Emperor of Earth [EMPEROR GENE]
Being one of the Li Clan- particularly one of the original 'brothers' trained by Luan- implies a heavy dose of arrogance, extreme, drama, and audacity a well as a blinding level of skill in the Li style. Edrienne is no exception. The more affectionate of the original Li boys, Edrienne disappointed his assigned foster father at a young age and was sent to live and train with Luan. Evidently this was the best thing that could have happened, because the boy thrived in this new environment. Medical records that showed bouts of depression before suddenly glowed with reports of his exuberance and desire to learn. He is extremely close to his brothers now, having survived the fall of Imperial with only the loss of his right eye. He met Alichino Sagato on Elysium; in a successful attempt to find the young man when he was kidnapped, Edri forced open a bond between them. This is the first known forced bond; the consequences have been traumatic on both sides. Both Edrienne and Alichino are currently on Imperial; further information on their relationship is unknown at this time.
Llaves Francisco del Oro
Type: Key [CODED]
Currently orphaned and not particularly concerned about it, Llaves is the reluctant heir to the del Oro syndicate in Elysium. He has avoided the situation since his father's death, however, taking the money his father had horded away and leaving the business to be taken over by his father's rival, Sagato. A very spicy-tempered Latino, Llaves is promse to violence without warning or second chance. He is, however, fanatically devoted to those he cares about- this very short list includes his best friend, Alichino Sagato, and the current man of his dreams, Seraph. At the least, Lla isn't willing to take any of Seraph's angst sitting down- he's more likely to do it from behind a smoking gun.
Leander I'qath
Type: BlackMage || Emperor of Arcana [EMPEROR GENE] [CODED]
If I were to assign Leander a title, it would be 'most likely to save the world' or possibly 'most likely to get himself into trouble.' Every time we stand to loose all trace of civilization or control, Leander appears out of the Mists to save us from ourselves. I have only worked with the BlackMage on a handful of occasions when he took over Anadark Tower for his brother Manen; I have a great deal of respect for his determination and boyish enthusiasm, but I would never want to live the life he has chosen. Lee is bonded to Ascot, and has gone from being mortal enemies with Lilith to one of his best friends. How this occurred, I could not tell you. He has lost most everyone he held dear, found some of them again, and though he is an excellent teacher he has the rockiest relationship with his children of anyone I have ever seen. His oldest son, Blazej, apparently died with Imperial, and his younger son Ashlee is currently missing. Leander's current project is bringing magic back to this world- it looks like he's going to pull it off again.

Force of Will [CODED]
Little is known about this mysterious Coded, largely because he is one of Oracle's very few wild cards. Because of his type and abilities, Sha is capable of repressing the mechanisms in his bloodstream that make him traceable by Oracle's dogs. He can hide the barcode even under direct application of the viewing agent, though by now all of the authorities know him on sight. He seems to be quiet and non-threatening- Oracle apparently wants to reclaim him to study his abilities, not because he poses a danger. He has shown a deep interest in music, and currently resides in hiding at Manen's library.
Legacy Grey
Type: Mimic [EMPEROR GENE]
The result of an unlikely encounter between the Mage-King, Winchester Grey, and Lilith, Legacy has put off claiming the Northern throne since Imperial's fall. Technically, he is second in line with the survival of his uncle, Asiago, but since Asia seems to have no interest in the throne the responsibility falls to Legacy's shoulders. More interested in the scholarly arts and teaching than running anything at all, Legacy is still heavily influenced by the time he spent with the desert tribes when he was much younger. He seems to carry Winchester's amused, easygoing nature on the surface, but the wicked blades he carries illustrates both his assassin blood and Lilith's ruthless brutality. He considers both parents worthy of his respect, and this has given him a unique outlook on life due to their vastly different opinions. Ashlee I'qath is his childhood companion and bondmate, though currently missing; the two have rarely been apart their entire lives.
Bailey [alt. entry: Fontchrist]
Type: Hurricane
I remember being terrified of the man known as Fontchrist, but it appears that life and being brought back from the dead have made him decidedly more domestic. 'Bailey' is the nickname given to him by a bartender for his love of Bailey's Irish Cream, but it seems this time around he has forsaken the name Fontchrist. He became Lilith's most loyal henchman/minion/general when the man was still working with Xen; Bailey has stayed devoted since then. The two have long since bonded and raised several children (Acheron, Romaine, and Legacy) although only Acheron is Bailey's biological child. In his quieter times, he has lectured at the Academy- in his darker times, he has destroyed entire cities with violent hurricanes, while he floated on the winds and watched with amusement. He is considered a danger because he is capable of hurricanes far out of nature's usual levels. It is my belief that if Lilith asks it, he will cause those storms again- but his current intention is to be content with being alive.
Kevin Cher [alt. entry: Acheron Caeli]
Type: Nemesis
The only son of Lilith and his bondmate, Bailey, this Lilith-spawn seems the most likely to follow in his infamous father's footsteps. Violent and sharply cunning, Acheron has long since been a threat if following his father's orders; history has also shown that his bloodlust can make him loose control completely, sending him on killing sprees that he sometimes does not remember afterwards. Fortunately, he has found a control mechanism in his wife, Eve; something in her unique nature calms his cravings and lets him live life normally, with a few setbacks now and then. Cher?s decision to stay with Eve has no doubt caused much strife between him and his father, but everyone seems to be at a point of calm. With Eve, Cher is raising Momi Washi.
Momi Washi
Type: Paper/Parchment [ORIGIN UNKNOWN]
Once one of the saddest stories in my records, Washi began life as a mistake. On Imperial, he was created with plain notebook paper as his DNA; it made him impossibly weak, causing him to suicide at a relatively young age. His soul was later found by Alain, who asked for and received his company in his travels. Along with Sirrus, the late King Drake's consort, Washi acted as Alain's conscience for many years. When Imperial collapsed, however, all of Alain's soul companions were trapped in a single field; Sirrus' soul was released, but Washi's was left behind. I am uncertain which scientist brought him back- he was found with a slightly different appearance and much stronger body as an orphan living at the Elysian City Hospital. 'Momi' has been adopted by Eve and Cher, and seems firmly attached to one of Alain's younger sons, Flint. So far he shows only rare, disturbing flashes of his previous memories.

Type: Tarot- The Hanged Man
Kaz's background gets deeper the more you dig. First he seemed like a regular agent for Moriarty, then his military history with Seraph was revealed...now it seems that 'military' stands for 'Elysian.' Despite this secrecy and convoluted series of twists, I enjoyed working with him whenever the opportunity presented itself; as the bondmate of Chiros Reese, one of the Southern Kings, he was very active at Anadark. Though both men are impossibly short, they are efficient and nearly unstoppable as a team. Kaz and Chi share one of the most famous love stories in all Doushikai history- through all damage, death, separation, and crisis, these two have remained completely in love. They participated in one of the few actual weddings in Doushikai history as well. Despite his odd love of women's clothing, Kaz's abilities- including telepathy- make him a force to be reckoned with. They have two children, Novalle and Chevalier; 'Kava' was lost when Imperial fell. Supposedly, Kaz was pulled out of Imperial when the chaos began and prevented from returning to save his family. Alberich brought Chi back on a hunch or premonition, giving Kaz back his reason to live.
Novalle Reese-Fleur
Type: Tarot- The Star
The slightly older son of Chi and Kaz, Nova lost his twin, Kava, in the fall of Imperial. This has subdued the previously buoyant young man, making his smile more somber than I remember it being when he was a small child. He is still easygoing and sweet-natured, but these days he is more likely to spend time in quiet moments of introspection than he is to go adventuring. Nova's currently runs a bar called the Star and Knight in honor of his brother (the Knight of Wands). He specializes in recreating the drinks made on Imperial for the curious, daring, or simply nostalgic. A far cry from his previous thrill-seeking, Nova now lives quietly and out of view. This has given everyone around him some cause for worry, but he insists he is perfectly fine. Nova inherited his empathy from his father, which may account for some of his distance if it is (as I believe) largely untrained.

Type: Winter
Dr. Merrindale, who bears no resemblance or relationship (apparently) to Alberich Merrindale, was one of the early Dou created on Imperial. I worked with him frequently at Anadark Tower; he is kind, exuberant, warm, and just a little wicked in personality. I believe he survived the fall of Imperial, but he died once before- his bondmate of MANY years, Urien, was tricked into destroying his safe house by Ascot, then working for Lilith. Ogre took Urien's memories of Sevelin, bringing Sevelin back and telling him Urien did not want to see him. The situation remained unchanged for many years, until Leander began to break through the block on Urien's memories and brought him back in contact with his 'dead' lover. The two were happily reunited, and raised Alain, Lou, and the second Ogre before the fall of Imperial. I do not believe Alain knows his father survived, and it is unknown whether his bondmate survived at this time.
Xerxes Cohen
Type: Jester
Given to King Drake to ornament his court, Xerxes very quickly became more of a spy than an entertainer. To this day he is impossibly secretive. All I know about him is that he was terribly in love with his King, and possessed an intricate gold ear ornament that allowed him immediate access to both King Drake and King Winchester whenever he asked for it. He wears it to this day- my last records have him living in the city, occasionally working with Spicata Mint though it is not clear if he was assisting the assassin or merely being his friend.

Ogre's chief (and to my knowledge only) rival has unknown origins. I believe Ogre knows more about him than I but is not yet willing to share the information- all that is known is that he was one of the Doushikai scientists at the same time Ogre was brought on to the project, and appears to be very nearly the same age as that time period. No explanation is known for this lack of aging. In my own experience the man is earnest but possibly over-curious; he seemed willing to do anyhting necessary to correct his mistakes. Perhaps...more kind-hearted than Ogre? I do not think this is a healthy trait in a scientist of his nature.
Sattva
Type: Ohm
Alberich has been extremely eloquent on this subject, though Sattva is his most precious project; perhaps his guilt in my own recreation plays a part, but I am more likely to think he misses his beloved daughter. In addition, he seems to delight in sharing his successes with Ogre- they often come to the same conclusions from different directions, which seems to have happened now. Sattva is the second fully-female Doushikai to be created, making her impossibly rare, which is probably why Kurono Meeki has had her locked up in Oracle for the past fifty years. She is apparently sweet-natured, but an excellent marital artist. If Oracle has not been able to crack her genetic code in so many years, it implies that she is more complex than she seems.

This name has been seen in conjunction with that of Mah of the Li Clan. There is also an indication that he may be very young and somehow associated with the phoenix- all other information is unknown.

Angel of Mysteries
I have been most disturbed to find that this sweet, warm, charming woman is Ogre's mother. I have never seen a parent-child comparison that has less in common. Reime is loving, laughs frequently, makes cookies, calls Ogre 'Oggie,' and overall seems to be very different from the scientist we have all known. There is evidence of his affection for her, however, and she seems to think of all of Ogre's creations as her grandchildren. I have promised to teach her how to make candy the next time she visits. The lady Angel is rather firmly attached to the demon Apophis, which explains Ogre a bit better- I have never seen her angry, but there are times when the stillness in her eyes makes me wary. She is currently pregnant with Ogre's little sister. I fear we may all die from the overdose of joy.
Feindish Quinn
Gathering information on this man is very difficult, because the people who know the most are not disposed to speak of him. All that I have found is that he was a very powerful, very ecclectic mage who once taught at the Northern Academy, and that he is Ogre's younger half-brother by an affair Reime had with his teacher, Quinn. Apparently, this caused a lot of tension in the family, and his death doesn't seem to have helped either.
