His cousin's been formally invited to attend a Royal Ball. Unfortunately, his cousin fell suddenly ill. As they couldn't afford to not have an attendee at this gathering, he is forced into a gown and sent in her place. At the ball, he took to the corners, worried that someone could see though his charade. Sadly for him, he is rather feminine in face and figure, so no such bad luck to spare him from further masquerading. Attempting to stay unnoticed just in case, he hides in the shadowier corners of the room. To add to his bad luck, the princes, the three sons of the king, notice him hiding in the background and, in a hospitable attempt, try to befriend him. His fearful reactions only heighten their curiosity. He, however, cannot wait to leave. One guest ducks outside for some air and comes back in, face set in utter disbelief, to announce that the castle grounds are covered in many feet of snow already and it is still snowing heavily. The king announces all guests must stay until the conditions are better, they have enough room in the castle. The boy dressed as a girl is horrified as the cheery princes tell him they shall see him the next day and wave him off to his room.

Naoki slept fitfully that night, what would happen to him if anyone found out he had impersonated nobility? True, it was his cousin but still...He woke the next morning hardly rested and looked at the scanty wardrobe before him, the kind being so kind as to let people borrow the clothes in the rooms, usually reserved for special guests of the royal family. He donned a dress of pale blue, the white lace the bubbled from the modest neckline was swen in ruffles along the chet so it would distract a bit form his rather...flat figure. He cast a look around and grabbed grapefruits from a basket of fruit nearby and hoped that they would not, by some off luck, go bad during the day or whatnot. He had to tighten the bodice to hold his "chest" in place and looked down with something akin to horror as he realized how overly buxom he looked. He shook his head, intent on removing them when a knock sounded on his door.

Silent-Kiwi "Lady...?" Yuuta called, waiting and then knocking again. "They're serving breakfast... might I come in?"

b- sweatdrop Sorry.) ((Ah, sowwy, Lady Akane)) "Eep!" Naoki squeaked, not a very masculine sound but that wasn't such a problem, he supposed. "Ah, I'm coming, but, ah, sure, come in," Naoki said, eyes darting around the room making sure all was in order. He would have to go to breakfast looking like this? Great...He didn't have to make his voice higher, he found, with a tinge of embarrassment, it passed for female on its own.

"Sorry for coming unannounced, I'm glad to see you're... ready..." Yuuta opened the door, pausing and then smiling. "You look... nice..." Stepping in, he looked up at her face like a polite boy should and frowned. "Did you not sleep well...?" he asked gesturing to the circles under her eyes which he focused on to keep from... had she been that way last night...? Yuuta kept himself from shaking his head physically, but brushed the thoughts off. "I thought you might like to dine with us, but perhaps...?"

Aki inched in, carrying a small basket of things on her hip. "Milady, your cousin asked me to give you these." she said, setting the basket, still covered with a plain white cloth, on the bed. It contained makeup, which Aki would help apply, and a note explaining that Aki knew and would help with everything.

Following, Yuuta offered his arm. He glanced back, smiling at the maid. "That was kind of your cousin... his name is Naoki, right?... You don't seem quite able to keep your balance... are you sure you're well?"

Naoki looked back at the maid, a look of desperation stealing across his face for the merest fraction of a second and then he smiled sweetly to "Highness..., I'll be just a minute, I have to show the maid where everything goes. Perhaps you could send someone up to fetch me in a few minutes?" hopefully not you who would notice a change in figure...he thought amusedly.
