I've always wanted to play Beatrice from Much Ado About Nothing. She's so strong and yet vulnerable at the same time. Which character would you like to portray most?

Ooo, I second Beatrice. I also wouldn't mind Rosalyn or Viola. If allowed more gender bending than my last two choices ( xd ) then I've always liked Bottom as a character.
For minor characters I wouldn't mind Dogberry or Dromio of Ephesus (which I did a scene once as).

Lady MacBeth, Joan la Pucelle, Beatrice, Helena, Katherine, Viola, and Rosalind.
I've got a ways to go before I complete that list...

It's too bad I'm far to low-enegery of a person to play Puck, or Ariel, but I'd absoloutly adore ether of those roles.
I had the oppurtunity to reherse as Helena for my drama class. Then I was absent for a few days and my understudy took over the role completly. She's one of my favorites, or rather, she would be if I was given a bit more reign with her, because I think she's completly phycotic.
My probablly ideal role would actully be Hero, from Much Ado About Nothing. She's so sweet and quiet and has to go through what was one of the worst things a maden could go through at that time, but she has a mischevious streak too! Everyone says they want to play Beatrice...but I'd perfer her cousen.

I'd play Romeo, Lysander, or Demetrius! Also, I had to read lines for Bassanio, Gratiano, and one of the S people in the same play! I read about 6 plays and I'm going to read a seventh this summer! I think I'd be Antony or Julius Caesar! Hamlet and Macbeth would be good characters!

I'd LOVE to play Iago. My favorite villain, and for a plus: HE DOESNT DIE!!!!! I'd also like to play Henry VI. I mean, he's so weak, he's just a joy to play. Hamlet would be cool (and I'm not OLD! So it works out fine). Petruchio was fun, as was Flute. I'd also like to play Mercutio. He's a nut. I like insane people, they're always fun.

Horatio. Definitely and desperately Horatio (even if such fanaticism doesn't sound terribly Horatian). Also Isabella depending on the interpretation of her character (I mean, as actors, we only have so much leeway under the wills of our directors razz ). There was also a time when I really wanted to play Montjoy, but that was probably just my fascination with his portrayal in Branagh's Henry V.

Beatrice! My favourite play is 'Much Ado About Nothing'. I did one scene as her for an acting class, but I'd love to do the whole play.
Lady MacDuff only has one scene, but it's a really good one.
And lastly, I'd like to at least perform Portia's 'Quality of Mercy' speech, for my father.

ok if I were a boy I would play Romeo, Benvolio, Macbeth, or Lysander. All these characters are strong or sensitive. They are all likeable in their own ways. Oh and I would love to play Mercutio. wink

Indeed, Mercutio rocketh.
If I were being cast in a male role, I'd want to play: Benedick, Antonio (from Twelfth Night, since there are more than one), Nick Bottom, Ros/Guil (hey, I won't lie, easy roles are fun, too), or Mercutio (he rocketh).

HAMLET! I would do it just for the soliloquy at the end of Act two, Scene two. If you do not recall the soliloquy (shame on you) it contains the second most famous line in Hamlet "The play's the thing wherein I'll catch the conscience of the king!".

I have a very long list of characters I would kill to play. My number one is definately Viola from Twelfth Night. Also: Helena and Puck (Midsummer), Beatrice and Hero (Much Ado), Rosaline (Love's Labour's Lost), Juliet and the Nurse (R and J), Ophelia (Hamlet), and Katherina (Taming of the Shrew).
