It is like joining a club. If you join, you make connections with ppl and be part of the group.
Ppl work hard to make it a fun place to come and chat or role play but if you don't pay your dues or participate it is kind of like freeloading to me. Especially like for this guild it is only 10 gold. Like you get that making one post.
You can join or not. It's a personal thing.

A guild is like a second family...a second home. The members become your friends and you all joined because you had something in common. In this case it would be the love of dragons.

a guild is a place to escape with the people who love the things you love and become a part of each other... in a guild you become brothers and sisters
