character classes available: (red means cant use)
ok, some classes you may not be familliar with:

first off,
Soldier / Halberdier - these were the generic spear wielding armored troops you'd often run into in the games, usualy being led by a knight.
untill Fire Emblem 9 (FE razz oR) they were an enemy-only class.
Info: you'r a spear wielder protected by armor and a shield, and while you're lighter and faster than a knight, you have lower defense.
_____________
Brigand / Cutthroat - aparently brigands have been a playable class in one of the japanese games, but none over here.
Info: weaker than a fighter but better defended, you fight with a large axe. can climb mountains, and loot houses / shops / vilages to gain items or money.
_____________
Merchant - Remember merlinus from Fire Emblem 7? (the gameboy one with no 2ed title) well now you can play as somone like him.
Info: while you cant fight, you still bring value to the team through suplies.
your overly large baclpack and various pouches alow you to cary large numbers of usefull healing items and other suplies. also you get a Trader's Discount at shops.
______________
Certian unit typess also have special abilities, the Heron can heal people, the sumoners ability shuld be obvious, wyvern knights can pierce armor, and there are a few others. others can learn skills (although, not the class-spesific ones).
unfoytunately certian skills like Chant(Heron) Dance(Dancer), and Play(Bard), dont realy work right in a text-based roleplay... you cant exactly make somone post faster...
anyone can learn to use knives, however they are less efective than any other weapon.
and NO, you CANT be Fire Eemblem 9 style rangers! (Ie: Ike = ranger)
