So, here is the question. You girls talk about loving guard, yes? Are any of you planning or are already on a Drum Corps? Cadets? Blue Coats? Phantom Regiment?
This is my favorite guard topic, so tell me your opinions.
I'm trying out for Santa Clara Vanguard and Phantom Regiment for colorguard. For Winterguard it'll be Black Gold or Ars Nova.
Start talking, kiddies.

I'm to young right now but I'm thinking of either doing some guard after high school like the ones in ohio(I have two in mind that I love but don't know how to spell) or going to a college with a guard.

That sounds good. But being on Corps is much better than any old college guard. The difference is the God-like status you get plus getting to say "Heck yes I'm good at guard!!" LOL!

I think it would be better for my sanity just to go to a college with it because of all the college work I'll have...lol....lord knows I need all my sanity I still have otherwise a few people(Barry) might die this season.

College guard won't leave your sanity intact sweatdrop , but it is a whole lotta fun. I think you'll enjoy it. The only draw back is all the shows you have to learn. But all the work you do is basics. Easy peezy lemon squeezy! I love it!

Multiple shows??? Why do you need to learn so many in college guards? Do you learn as many in the other groups you were talking about?

Well, we had our two openers, plus our main show, and then various other short shows and stand dances. College demands more. Alot of people come to every game so they want to see different things.
And I don't know how many shows DCI uses. I think it's one main show you work on for four months, then compete. With corps winterguards, it's the same show, but different choreography for every competition.

I think it'd be so cool to join a corp. But right now, I'm too young. And I'm not sure if I could afford it. (Time to start saving! lol) But the corps are amazing. I've been to 3 shows already. 2 in Allentown, PA and and the one in Toledo, Oh. Go Glassman! Though I'm not really fond of that showw. But the have cool flags.
My favorite corp is the Bluecoats. I love their show. The Blue Devils are pretty awesome too. Oh! And the Carolina Crowns! As soon as their show was over the whole crowd stood up in 5 seconds flat. It was awesome.
So, anyone else been to a show yet? Or plan on going? You should go. Especially this late in the season once they've cleaned up a lot.

I haven't been to any show this year. But most of my friends are on a corp, so I know most of their routines! Such fun!
