For starters I present for discussion and review the 13 episode Hellsing anime series. This series stays relatively parallel to the manga for the first seven episodes, then diverges drastically. For when it was released it was in my opinion one of the three best short-series anime to be produced (those including Berserk, Hellsing and Cowboy Bebop)
And secondly, Hellsing:Ultimate Series. This series follows the manga almost exactly, and when it doesn't it still stays exactly to the vision that the manga created including it's rare moments of horridly corny humor. Using some of the best combinations of 3d and hand drawn I have ever seen these 50 minute episodes (each one covering one manga book) are masterpieces. So far only one is available for purchase, however the second one is on the net if you know where to look.

The Manga Was Fabulous. I Loved The Cover Illustrations. I Have To Credit Studio GONZO Though For Putting It Into A Series, Though Short Lived. [I've Only Watched About 3 Episodes Though, I Do Prefer Manga Most Of The Time]. But I Love The Gun Sketches, And The Soundtracks Were Very Nice.
