But I'm just glad to see this sick ******** was turned in. I love birds, and peafowl are among my favorites. At the School of Horticulture Botanical Gardens in Niagara Falls, I got to see a pea-pair (
xd ) perched on a low branch in a cage. They have a small aviary set up, I believe for rehab, but I'm not sure.
As you may know, peacocks have a loud, distinctive yowl, and as they're territorial, you can get them to yowl by yowling at them. I also coo at doves, and they coo right back.
4laugh Some might say that animal rights activists only care about cute animals, which we know is wrong. I'd say the average person only cares about cute animals, whereas we see the cuteness inherent in every living thing. Well, almost. Tapeworms: not so cute.
My point is, it's good that people are outraged over this--a severely psychotic wretch killing a totally innocent, defenceless and beautiful bird. What needs to come out of this is a precedent for punishing animal cruelty. If it's wrong to kill a peacock, why can't it be wrong to kill a chicken?
