Okay, so here are the rules... I start of by saying "have you ever [insert question here]" then after one person answers my question, then the person who answers me gets to ask the next. It's pretty simple if you don't understand, here lemme start it.
Oh, and Ming you can delete this thread doesn't belong here.
Have you ever felt the need to go to your local bookstore (in my case borders) to just read manga there for an hour or longer?

No, because there are no bookstores close to me, so when I do go to Borders, I don't ever have a lot of time. I just buy what I want.
Have you ever gotten so obsessed with one manga that you couldn't concentrate on any different series?

Yes, in a way. I bought the last 10 volumes of Mars all at once. I had finals, and other books I had bought, but it didn't matter--that was my life for 3 days.
Have you ever managed to get someone you know obsessed with manga/anime, and were you proud of yourself for doing so?

Kind of. i got my friend into anime and stuff but i dont think he is as obsessed as i am >.<
Have you ever wished that you would have a huge sale in your bookstore on manga so you could get as many as you would want? (i know i have >.>)

In a part, but i prefer a good adaptation without -san -sensei etc, and cultural difference explain and easily understandable
and they can remove the dust jacket if it's less expensive (most french volume have it but for me it's imperative only for manga that have bonus on undercover like FMA or Aria)
Have you ever made a planning for the publication of the manga you buy?

A: Yes, though not so much any more. When I go to the bookstore, all I want to do is spend money. whee

A: I can't think of a time that I've ever narrowed in on one series. Mostly because I have so many ongoing series I collect at once... I can think of at least 10 titles that I squeal when I see a new volume of.

A: Not really. Somehow I lack the skillz to get my friends as interested in my fandoms. Of my 3 real life best friends - Julie collected a bit in high school (5 years ago), and recently gave most of her volumes away... Krish already liked manga, but she only buys them in Chinese. Most of the time she just borrows volumes from me because I have so many... and it's like pulling teeth to get Nam to start a new series. crying

A: Yes. Though one Christmas my grandpa gave me $10,000 and my parents let me spend it however I liked. That was as good as a huge sale.

A: No, but my mom has shown interest on a few occasions to read Red River. She's such a sucker for time travel romance stories.

A: Hell no! I have NO skill with learning languages... and living in Japan is expensive!

A: Nope. I am amazingly stingy with my money at anime conventions. I circle the entire dealers room a couple times and plot out exactly what I want to snag before I start spending all crazy. I didn't even spend all the money Nam gave me last AniZona. All I bought was 1 manga and a set of Aria toys.

How do you feel about manga & anime becoming more mainstream? And do you think it will have a good or bad effect on new titles coming to the States?
