Do you like light novels? They are novels for a light read directed to young readers that are focus on the characters. They often has an anime feel to it and thus easy to be converted into one. The Suzumiya Haruhi series and Trinity Blood are good examples of light novels.

What's your favorite light novel? If you do not like light novels, why?

Oh, I have seen Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, it's one of my favorite anime series, but I didn't know that it was also a light novel series. In fact, I'm not familiar with the term "light novel."

The anime of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu is based on the novels. Read them. You don't know what you are missing. If you liked the anime, you'll love the novels.

Do you think the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett count? They seem pretty light to me. His Going Postal is one of the best of the series.

I also like the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.

I love light novels. I love Shakugan no Shana, Twelve Kingdoms, and above all Death Note: the BB case

Not really 'light', but it's the best young adult's novel I've read. It's flow is easy and natural, and the main character, Pamela, is very human. The word usage is very beautiful. Pamela herself isn't perfect or pleasant, but she reminds me of myself, which is probably why I enjoyed it as much as I did...

The book is "Alone at Ninety-Foot," by Katherine Holubitsky.

Light reading is fun.. though the books usually last too short for their own good. sad
