I like to build up a defense before I attack, that way I know my base is safe. What's your best strategies?

Aye, boss is right. It depends on which game, whether it's online or not, and if not, what level difficulty A.I. you're dealing with and how many. If you're playing anything like Red Alert 2 or below, offense is your best defence. Keep the enemy on the edge and they'll never get the chance to attack you. Building a defence, especially against an online player, with those games is dangerous, unless you know exactly what's going on at every given moment. Then, in that case, you'll probably be accused of mapping.

I used to pwn in AOD's but when I had to play against actuall people I always got pwnt because I spent too much time building defenses that someone could just go around. emo

When I'm the GLA on ZH, I like to build a big wall of stinger sites and tunnel networks and whatnot.

if a lot of buildings are near base..excessive amount of Missile Defender(usa), Tank Hunter(China), and RPG Troopers(GLA) with shadow splitter only filled with stingers sites and i mean a lot

if there's building near by...i buy excessive amount of rpg troopers ect.

but if not i just buy excessive amount of stinger sites, patriot missles, bunker, ect.

I have too many to list, so I'll list my most effective

RA2/YR razz rism/cannon defense, Find a chokepoint and fortify it massive amounts of prism towers and grand cannons, if built properly it can stop an apocalypse rush dead in its tracks

Flak/Patriot defense, MUST HAVE SOV AND ALLIED TECH: this should be obvious

Psy/cannon Defense: Find a choke point and fortify it with Psy Towers and Gattling cannons

that should be enough for now

Just because watching the enemy rush you, and the machine guns mowing them down while they're still advancing reminding you of the Mech-walker scene in The Matrix: Revolutions is ******** cool. ninja

CnC - Tiberian Dawn- Flame tank rush followed up by artys and lights. the flame tanks will distrcat the sapless AGTs and such, while the artys pummel them, and the lights take care of any tanks in the area. ******** mammies x_x.

If your gdi then go with a full on med rush backed up by mrls or apcs. cant ever go wrong with that x_x

RA - well theres no need to explain. ******** tank rush that b***h!!!
or 3 mads always do the job hehe.

Tiberian Sun - No defende will survive a NOD siege. artys covered by tick tanks and stanks being repped by a MRV will be very hard to break. unless you have like 10 orca bombers...

As for GDI... well.. i believe thats what the ion cannon and MKII were for wasnt it.

RA2- Prism tanks prism tanks prism tanks. a grounp of 50 or more will pwn ANYTHING except aerial forces.. in which case they can be taken out by 5 elite rockets in no time x_x

SUPER DEMO BOMBS FTW - Apocs followed up by 20 or so v2s. if youve got the iron curtain then iron the front troops and have them hit the pps.

Generals. - No defende works on ths game. no matter how large you build up.. there is always one way to break the gloryious things down.

What I would so is make an AA Wall, Which is a whole mass of MiniGunners Formed up very close to each other in a THICK AND LONG line, Kills everything

Then when then build a super weapon
I take my AA Wall to go and take out their base and leave mt glatleling cannons to deal with ememy troops
