Transformers: Robots in Disguise! Trust me, if you've ever watched commercials for the toys in what I call "the cartoon channels"(Nick, Cartoon Network, etc.) you'll know that jingle! Well, it's been made into a movie. Yesterday it premiered,(and I watched it) but I don't get what the hype is all about.

How can an animated childrens' TV show possibly be made more appealing by making it an acted-out movie? AND making it PG13! Exactly how do they expect to make money if the overprotective parents(but then again, isn't that a minority?) don't think it's appropiate for the children?

Well, the theater was full to the brim, and I had to sit in the fourth row (counting from front to back) and I didn't even want to see the movie. But I had no choice.

It was entertaining, but it looked too much like other movies I'd seen. List in white below(because it has spoilers explaining how it looked like that movie). I had like 10 movies on my mental list, at least.

First movie: Herbie Fully Loaded. Same thing, kid gets first car, has to be something cheap, car finds kid, not the other way around, kid hates car, car turns out to be better. Herbie is "The Love Bug" as this one from Transfformers is "BumbleBee". Bug, bee...It also communicates through the radio and plays songs basically timed as well. Love Bug, Bumbebee...
Second movie: Well, the idea of showing the story as the kid doing a show and tell isn't exactly original. (Pay it Forward?)
Third movie: Or the one about the dude making his show and tell about someone who supposedly went crazy and the person turned out to be a hero. This one's Chicken Little.
Fourth movie sad I dunno) Military operations, robot hacking the system. Again, not original to have a military operations system hacked in a movie.
Fifth movie: Alien language--this one's a must have for any Sci-Fi movie out there... stare

Thus my list is concluded. For now. What did you think of the movie?

Personally, I enjoyed it. I really liked the special effects, though I could have done without the camera zooming in on the girl the whole time.

'Twasn't that bad, but it was like many others. There were so many effects, at times I had to look away from the screen because my eyes hurt! Or maybe that's because I sat too close to the screen...(why my family couldn't wait two or three days to see this movie, I'll never know. We always end up getting the seats up front at 'premieres'--always)

SPOILER: I went to the movies determined to still think it was lame by the end of the movie...I was actually smiling when the boy fell down the building thinking "How will he die? I know he'll fall, but...OMG, I wanna see his blood!" and then, "Why didn't I predict this? Of course he was going to get saved. children's TV show...sequel, maybe.

That probably had a lot to do with it >.> I once was in the VERY FRONT ROW watching War Of The Worlds with my friends. Gah. Major head ache. And i knew it was because we were so close, because I had seen it before at the Theater's and I wasn't bugged at all.

I know what you mean, but truely, you can pick just about ANY movie, and find similarities between that movie and another movie.

Hm...I overlooked that. I was determined to find faults in the movie, so that's probably it. xp I guess it's the names, "Optimus", "Prime", "[insert name here]tron". Specifically that last one. At least that was my impression when I saw the comercials. stressed

I know what you mean. It's hard to take a movie seriously when they have such typical robot names *loL*

I can't imagine seeing the Spanish version...

"I can't wait to have some of my ma's f**kin' delicious rice and beans"
"Cuantas veces te lo tenemos que decir? No hablamos ingles!"("How many times do we have to tell you? We don't speak English! (But they usually leave things in foreign languages untranslated, even if the rest of the movie is being translated into that language, therefore it loses part of its appeal. They don't translate languages, either, so they might say "I don't know Spanish" in Spanish. xp They also sound kind of emotionless in the translations.)

Or:

"Bumblebee..." which they'd pronounce "boom-ble(not "bol" like in English, but rather like in "bless")-beh(like in "bay")-eh(like in "father" Oh man...

You can tell why I don't watch movies in Spanish, huh? I don't know how the other Puertorricans deal with it. stressed That's why I saw Harry Potter 5 twice(also because the tape burnt and when they fixed it they got it to play at a part like 5 minutes later than when the tape burnt. stressed ).

==OFF-TOPIC!!!==

A problem lately is that I think in spelled-out words, and everything I hear I have to translate into spelled words to understand. Thank goodness that tape broke!! (They rarely play a movie in English without captions, this one wasn't "rare") Somehow I could understand it while thinking in English and the captions being in Spanish, and the dialogue in English. Other things I was slow at getting, like...[SPOILER AHEAD IN WHITE!]

...when Sirius Black dies. They're having a wand fight, so I didn't care much about it. I did listen and all, but I didn't know about the spells they were using, when suddenly, one, like much of the others, sounded familiar. But I couldn't remember what it did. Then the characters stopped and looked, the characters were looking at an arch, the caption was there(thankfully!!), "Avada Kedavra". Nope, nothing. Was this in that 839(I'm sure)-page book I read two years ago? Can't remember, I've read so much since then. But, wait, aren't they killing someone...who did they just kill? Hm...Wait, that's Sirius!!! wahmbulance OMG wahmbulance they just killed Sirius Black!!! GAH! OMG!!!! Sirius!!!!! And all those puns Dad made about your name, now you'll never become a comedian!!! gonk OMG, now the Dursleys are officially Harry's only family!!! gonk

Note that I had all those thoughts in, like, 5 seconds maximum. And that I wasn't sure if what I thought happened really happened until I heard a character confirming it(in a pretty evil voice, may I add?) that I realized I was right. Wow, I'm crazy.

Arrgh, it be crazy if you be to ask me, matey. pirate

You can tell I celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day. Well, I've watched a few Pirates of the Caribbean, anyways(being I live in the Caribean, we should get the movies first. stressed ) so, y'know... rolleyes

Speaking of pirates and their times(and threadjacking one's own thread, if there is such a thing [hint, hint] ) I went to visit the Serralles Castle a few days ago. It turns out, it's not a castle. It's a rich family's(the Serrales's) house which was built(in the 1930's) like a castle and was big, and the neighbors were so impressed by it they called it the Serralles castle. The name, as you can tell, stuck, basically. I'd feel bad if I were the heir, I'm not sure wether they donated the castle or the government took it from them, but, if it was the first(it probably was), I think they'd regret it having been turned into a museum and all, almost every person who's went has wanted to live there. Why somebody wouldn't, I'll never know.
