One of the most Extreme Progessive bands on this planet, Who loves them? I can play some of their songs on bass, I have an Opeth poster, Patch, Hoodie, and shirt, they're tied for first as my favourite band, sooo......any Opeth fans out there?

I really love Opeth for many reasons, though two of the main reasons are now absent. D: (Lopez and Lindgren) I really love all their guitar and drum work, and I especially love Michael's vocals. His growl is wonderful and he can sing well too.
Ghost of Perdition is a wonderful example of all four of those. biggrin

I was in my brother-in-law's car, driving home from helping him move some furniture and stuff and he had Sacrificed Sons playing. It moved me, seriously. biggrin

Looks like I'm the only here that's going to say I cant stand this band. I think they are downright terrible. They write overly long songs that dont go anywhere and dont have much cohesion, they are called exteame progressive metal but there is no heavyness to be found in their music, and any of their riffs that actually sound somewhat decent sound like they are ripped off of Novembers Doom. I first bought Ghost Reveries a year ago when a guy I met at a concert recommended Opeth to me, and I wish that I could get the 10 hours of my life back that I spent trying to like this band...

One of my favorite live bands 3nodding I love everything they play live, but on cd i don't really like everything, it has less atmosphere i gues.
My favorite songs is closure, but the end of that song is also the weakest ending of a song ever to me.

I first listened to Blackwater Park, so I'm partial to recommending that. I also would recommend Blackwater Park first. I had my friend listen to that one first and it got him hooked, so I'd definitely start with that one. Plus people seem to like it more than the others because Steve Wilson from Porcupine Tree helped produce it.
