So, in the trailers for the amazing transformers. Was this trailer that was shot like a home video, or one of those random commericials that make fun of movies, but then it started getting interestign with explosions and what not. then on the screen flashes JJ Abrams Any idea what that's all about???

ok, i did some digging. Here's what i found:
The trailer attached to Transformers is for a top secret JJ Abrams produced monster movie. I still haven’t seen the trailer, but most people tell me that it’s on level with the Independence Day Superbowl trailer from years ago. And the teaser ends with no information, other than JJ Abrams (Lost, M:I:III) is producing the flick, which will hit theaters on January 8th 2008. Don’t bother searching online to see this spectacular new trailer, because you won’t find it. I know this because of my website stats. For one reason or another /Film is the top result when you search for information on a JJ Abrams Transformer Trailer on Google. And thus explains the thousands of movie-goers, in search of an answer, and some even in search for a second look.
Paramount has even denied knowledge of any such film, or trailer for that matter. But what they have done is created the next great viral movie advertisement. But instead of using YouTube or Google video, they used the biggest movie release of 2008. It’s a genius marketing attempt, but will it work in the age of branding? Sure, people are excited now. They are searching on Google, looking for an answer. But the truth is, the movie doesn’t even have a final title (that’s publicly known at least). So those who actually took the bait and went on the internet treasure hunt will come out calling the movie either “Cloverfield” (the film’s working production title) or “The JJ Abrams Monster movie”. And before you ask (because others already have): No, the film is not called “Bad Robot”, that is the name of Abrams’ production company.
I’m just thinking out loud, and trying to play devil’s advocate. I actually think this is a great idea. It’s gotten people excited and talking about a film that otherwise could have been released as a b-level January sci-fi action movie.
So what is CLOVERFIELD? Well, word from inside the company is that CLOVERFIELD is a giant monster movie, featuring something that's being referred to internally as "The Parasite," and we’re going to see a trailer for it very soon that’s been designed and shot even as we speak. I’m not sure if it’s going to be attached to TRANSFORMERS or if we’ll see it later in the summer, but it’s definitely coming soon. And the end of it should feature one of those iconic images that makes people talk about a trailer for months.
And what makes this different than any other giant monster movie? Well, as I understand it, most of the film is going to be shot using home video cameras, as if from the point of view of real people who are experiencing an attack on New York. It’s designed as a fairly small picture, all things considered, and right now, they’re working to make sure the script is going to deliver some wild thrills (like an earthquake that levels Manhattan or an oil tanker flipping over by the Statue of Liberty), but that it’s not suddenly going to turn into a giant $150 million movie. It’s a tricky balance, and if they pull off everything they’re trying to do, CLOVERFIELD could be something really groovy. Not a man in suit in sight.

It's probably just a B budget movie, but I'm really excited about it. The marketing team is REALLY doing their job lol

There are rumours about the monster may be a Cthulhu. I'm not sure what's the Cthulhu about but what I'm observing looks interesting.

Well there are loads of info and things and its just pretty damn creepy/cool how much there is. but the film is dubbed Cloverfield by most so i think thats what it should be called until its title is made official. I'm gonna make a sticky thread where anyone who has info can post it in there.

I'm not sure how true this is but I heard on the radio that the monster is Godzilla. I'm just wondering if it's a sequel to the one from a few years ago.
