Hohenheim stepped off the train in Central. It had been many years since he had last been here. A lot had changed yet it still had the same atmosphere...

Edward Elric, the fullmetal alchemist sat down on a bench near central to get a small break." man it's to warm out!" he complained and glared at the hot sun, curseing it under his breathe and refusing to remove he red jacket or black jacket. " I hate summer..." he complained again.

Hohenheim walked around Central, feeling a little lost. He hadn't thought he had been away for long enough for this much to change. As old as he was, things still managed to surprise him.
He wandered past where Ed was sitting but didn't see him.

Hohenheim sat up, confused. It took him a moment to register who had punched him.
"E-edward? What are you doing in Central?" he asked.

"You're a state alchemist?" Hohenheim repeated, shocked.
Why would Trisha let their son join the military at his age?

Ed crossed his arms on his chest and sat down on a bench, looking at the ground." Thanks to you leaving, mom died, me and Al tried to bring her back. Al lost his body, I lost a arm and leg. And didnt even show up for her funeral!"

Hohenheim was shocked to absolute silence. Trisha was... gone?
It took him another minute to register the other part of what Edward had said.
"I guess I shouldn't be surprised... You are my sons, after all..." he sighed, putting his hand on his forehead in thought.
He had a lot more to say but he needed to process for a moment. Being told the woman you love is dead and that your sons almost died, too, is a lot to take in all at once.

He was still looking down but looked up to glare at him." But why?! Why did you leave us?! Mom waited day after day for you and you never came back!" he yelled, tears building up but he fault not to let them out.

"I had... important work to do... I had no idea your mother was even sick... Why didn't she say something in her letters...?" Hohenheim said, almost to himself.

"She never got any letters!" Ed nearly shouted to him." Not even a phone call! And is your work more important than your family?!"

"She got letters because she wrote me back," Hohenheim said calmly.
((OOC: In the episode 'Mother', Ed and Al go through the letters that Hohenheim sent their mother to find which address he was at to ask him to come help their mom))
