I'm about to start work on a very intricate roleplay of sorts -- one based around the concept of the Gaia BS (Gaia Battle System). Since we've recently gotten a fairly good look into the inner working of the game, I've decided that, after looking around the Battle System Forum, it might be a fun idea to create an RP derived from it.

For those who remember it, I'm thinking it should be based somewhat around alx222000's idea of "The Maze", where people create their character and choose their equipment before setting out, and the Game Master (GM) essentially directs them through the RP (of course, I may need alx's help to actually make it work, since he did create the concept...).

Yes, I'm quite aware that we don't know the exact details of the battle system, yet, and that, because of this, it's rather difficult to circulate a roleplay around it. However, since we have a clear view on what it'll likely be like, and since the information the RP may produce will only be speculative in nature, it's fine to go outside the boundaries a bit 3nodding .

I won't give away too much of what I'm planning, but it should be fun wink .

That said, however, I need some help. The level of depth that the ring system adds to the game is staggering. Not only that, but the possibilities for enemies are practically endless. Just, in general, the potential of what was shown to us is vast, meaning this could be quite a project. So I ask this of all of you, my fellow guild members...

Suggestions for rings and enemies, please sweatdrop ? I'm a little interested in what everyone else would like to have in the RP, since one mind's ideas are nowhere near as great as the ideas of many. Any suggestions are welcome and shall be taken into consideration. If you think I might be obviously including a certain ring, it still doesn't hurt to suggest it. (No suggesting weapons, however, unless they're jewelry-summoned weapons wink ).

Note: the current trend with monsters seems to be that they're items come to life, and I'd like to stick to that as closely to possible. If anything, we should make this as close to the real battle system (or what we currently know about it) as possible.

When suggesting (I'm using that word a lot) something, please describe it as much as you can, in detail. Other than general guild/Gaia rules, there are no rules in this thread, so go crazy with the posting stylization, if you must blaugh .

Aww, I wanted an enemy that, in order to defeat, you had to throw Orange Marmalade on it.

That'd be tight.

For rings, they have to have general abilities, right?

Start out simple, attack/strength and defense, maybe agility or stamina.

That would be totally scary. To randomly have one swoop in, latch onto your head and try strangling you...O.O

Believe me, I'll be doing some interesting things with monthly collectibles xd . But yes, I'm thinking ORLY? Hats will come in different varieties, one of which will fly through the air and latch onto your head, then start draining your life gradually.

Stat-wise, I'm thinking Attack, Defense, Intellect, Dexterity, and Luck. There will be rings for improving these stats.

Questions
No agility stat?
What does intellect do?
Are we playing ourselves? (as in, would my character be skine99?)

I guess that Intellect would increase your knowledge over your stats and attacks.

1 - Ugh, sorry. My brain's not working. I'm thinking of other RPGs I've played...so yes, there'll also be an Agility stat.
2 - It makes your spells (ring abilities) more effective and gives you more MP to use.
3 - Yes.

If everyone would like to read the part about rings here, that'd be helpful.

And now, things I'd like to confirm that I have (a bunch of "yes"es, basically) -

---

Yes, almost everything it says there will be implemented (including the kinds of rings it suggested).

Yes, you'll be able to target other people for status-increasing/protection/healing rings.

Yes, there will be both normal experience and Rage experience (thus Rage Ranks).

Yes, loot will be given out from monsters, then used at certain locations to make new rings.

Yes, you may need to be a certain level or have a certain amount of Ring-Fu to use it. (Ring-Fu, if it confuses some of you, is the total amount of Rage Ranks among all rings in your possession).

Yes, there will be bosses.

Yes, moonfields will be there.

Yes, even though it doesn't say it anywhere, the RP will allow you to buy rings from shops with gold (one kind of loot, I suppose).

Yes, there will be bonuses for certain combinations of rings (so basically, don't be a (quote) "jack of all trades" (/quote) and let others be the healer or the attacker or whatever).

And finally: yes, there will be passive abilities and activated abilities.

---

Current Ring List:

- Various Elemental Rings
- Illusion Ring (also known as the Decoy Ring)
- Haste Ring
- Cloak Ring
- Various Summon Rings
- Various Weapon Rings
- Various Healing Rings
- V. Status Rings
- And more...

---

Any questions, so far?

Usually Intellect raises your magic level.

It all sounds good to me.

You'll all pick from a large list of rings to begin with. Each of you will choose four rings instead of two, just to make it a bit more fair.

And you can also attack by bumping into foes (if that weren't already obvious wink ).
