While me and my Shakespeare group slog through this play, we have come to a concensus. This play is the worst thing we ever read, it's horrible. None of us like it.

Anyone here actually like A&C or do you feel the same as me?

Here's a poll for you all to say yes or no to, and get some coins on the side.

I agree completely with every thing you just said. Even for me, someone who has been obsessed with ancient Egypt since the fourth grade--and may just become an Egyptologist--and who loves Shakespeare, this is one of the worst of his works.

There is simply too much politics in it. The most exciting part is at the end, when Cleopatra kills herself.

Henry the VI had Joan of Arc in it, and Richard Plantagenat, AKA Richard III. The play was so much better than A&C. It's one of my favorates.

Well I suppose that's up to whether you prefer British to American spelling, which Shakespeare, being English, obviously did lol
I myself couldn't read it. It was FAR too dull for my tastes. Caesar and Cleopatra (or whatever it was) by GB Shaw was FAR better.
But then again, that was too dull for me too.
