Since Pockyism allows you to have other religions, I was wondering if any of the members in this guild had another religion or two. 3nodding
If you do have another religion, please tell me (if you want) how you pay equal amount of attention to both. 3nodding Also, if you want to, explain your religion. I know a lot of people here don't mind learning something knew. whee

Christian... But as you have likely all read before... My church openly invites: Homosexuals... Drugies... Alcoholics... Prostitutes... And generally 'Bad People' into our church. To show them love... And maybe help those with the addiction. Our idea to Christianity is this:
God created diversity for a reason. The Tower of Babble was a main source of diversity. Therefore we should be tolerant of all beings and religions... For we are not required to practice the ways of those we befriend.
And I think my Pastor was routing for the Green Party... Not Bush... Go Pastor Rob! We love you man!
Plus our church's main floor doubles as a basketball court on fridays for the youth basketball team... And we all know that's teh sehcks...

That's cool about the basketball. smile Just out of curiosity, is your church a certain denomination or is it non-denominational?

i don't really have any sort of faith in anything. i was raised catholic, and went to catholic school from two-day preschool up until i graduated high school (from an all-girls school, even). my first year of college was spent at a catholic school that legally went nondenominational to get more government aid money.
i remember being about nine years old, sitting in church one sunday and thinking to myself, "wow, that priest is full of s**t!"
my thinking hasn't changed much.
how does any human even begin to contemplate an all-knowing, all-powerful, ever-present, omnipotent, omniscient being that created the universe? and most christian sects (particularly catholicism, and born-again types) and more radical sects of islam claim that they KNOW FOR CERTAIN (tm) that they have it figured out?! ha.
one thing i admire about judaism is that you are taught what the torah and other writings say. then you are taught to question everything: the existance of G-d (who is so powerful and worthy of respect that you cannot even write his full name), what the prophets said, the rules of judaism, all of it. and you must question these things so that you can come to your own peace and conclusion.
most eastern and african religions have beliefs that are more my speed: the spirit of the great being is everywhere, in everything and everyone, respect for life, etc, but i personally don't like any sort of remotely organized religion.
a friend of mine from boston practices a strange combination of neo-pagan judaism, and actually has authored quite a few books on the subject. you can see her (self-admittedly lame) website, jenniferhunter.com and check out links to her books. i haven't read them all myself as i'm extremely short on funds, but she's amazing.
so.... i sort of didn't really answer any questions. i just brain-dumped about religion. oh well. y'all don't hate me, right? sweatdrop whee
