I'm sixteen. [Will be 17 in October.]
And this past May I started my second job, but my parents gave me credit to buy an iPod, so all my checks I give to them they cash it and it's gone to pay that off.
Anywho. Long story short. The past two pay-checks I've gotten have been the first time I've ever had my own hard-earned money. And my mom's cashed them for me and I just keep the money in a painted hat box where I keep all my change. [I have about $50 of change in my room.]
But today I got my dad to take me to the bank and we set up a savings account. =] I'm excited.
I feel all grown-up.
I got my very own ATM card and everything. Well no check book or debit card or checking account, but I have my money in a bank where it will get interest built on it and what not. =]
So. Spoons?
How old are you?
Do you feel like you're fairly grown up or are you still growing?
What are some simple adult things that you've been through and they make you feel excited to be growing?
Have you had a job/do you have a job?
Do you have a bank account?
What about an ATM card?

I've been out of school for a couple of years,
Got me a job and stuff biggrin
But i feel like i'm geting left behind somtimes >.>
Most of the girls i went to school with have kids and mortgages,
And i still want to act like im 15!

I've had an ATM card since i was about 10,
So it's not a big deal for me ^^;

Yea. My boyfriend already has like a checking account and a savings and a debit card. And like all sorts of grown up things.
And I took my little ATM card and I was like "Dude!!!! Loooka looka looka!" And he was like, "That's awesome Emily." Like he was trying to be happy but it's was like an un-said, 'Well atleast you're maturing a little bit I guess.'

I am 18 going on 19 this coming tuesday. I've had my own bank account ever since I turned 10, and its been with me ever since. At 16, I set up a checking account and got my own debit card.
I still feel like I am growing up though. I still remember the second grade, so I definitely still feel like a kid.

Oh goodness. Banks, money, taxes - It all confuses the hell out of me. sweatdrop
I've had a bank account for as long as I remember but I'm so naive when it comes to money and how the world works regarding it.
I hate growing up, I'm almost 21 but in some ways I feel like im 16 still. gonk
I've had my own card for awhile now and recently got a great job but I'm still learning when it comes to money and a lot of adult things. I wish I wasn't so sheltered. All these forms you have to fill in when it comes to money and jobs really stress me out.

Congrats on getting a savings account! You're gonna be happy you have that in a couple years when you go to college or get an apartment or whatever it is you're going to do after high school.
I am 22 now, and I've had a fair share of Holy cow I'm an adult! moments, and I'm sure I still have a lot to go. I've had a savings account since I was 15 when I got my first job. When I was 19, I got my very first charge card and opened up a checking account. I remember being VERY excited about having a credit card. Taxes and such still scare me, I make my mom do them.

I have a savings account and I only have $100 something in there...
I haven't checked lately.
But I'll be getting a checking account and debt card the moment
my first pay check arrives from my first ever job - thats as soon
as I start it - Either sometime this or next week.
I can't wait! ^^

Ahh man... I now have a bank account at
my own job. I work at a Bank as a student intern-
1pm-5pm at $7.93 an hour.... Lame. I was hoping to work full time!

Well.. im going to be a father so i hope im grown up.
Bringing up two little girls since my bro died.
I have two jobs... Subway and Pizza Hut.
Yes I do.. I have a checking account.
I have a Debit Card.. its like a credit card..but without the credit.
Trust me.. Full time sucks..
I got rediculous money..but no time.. at all.
