Don't answer it all in one post but feel free to post as much as you want.^^

What my God/ Goddess does for me.

How many Gods/Goddesses do you follow?

Does your deity offer some sort of protection or aid in life?

What kind of ceremonies do you perform to honor them, or call upon them?

Have you met your god/ goddess face to face or in a dream.

If you have anything you wanna share feel free this is kind of an open thread.
Above all have fun and feel free talking about what you want to share.

i'm not sure, at first i thought it would be mainly Fraya, but then Baldur and his brother Hodur (or Hod) seemed closer. a odd thing. both gods are with Hel, but will live again after ragnorok...
for class i had to rewrite a story, i chose Baldurs Death and wanted to write it from Hodurs point of veiw, so its not so odd i guess that i would be drawn to them...

When I first converted it felt to me as if the gods and goddesses were all calling out to me at once, but then it felt as if Thor was calling me; which at first I thought that was a little weird because I used to be extremely scared of storms. But now whenever a storm comes I am very grateful for the gift that is being given and think of the storm or rain as a protective barrier aroun me and my family because I know Thor would never allow harm to come to me. xd

I died and met Hel even before i knew who she was and she told me to go back to life and find her. Ever since iv been sick or injured every day of my life but ^^ it doesn't seem like im able to die. There have been many situations since where i should have and just didnt.

What my God/ Goddess does for me.

I find that personally, the gods and goddesses whom I have an affinity with I tend to be someone whom works at emulating their behaviours and character.

I am on good terms with all Ases and Vans, but if one were to be more specifically speaking, then I am Vinr to Oưinn, Frey, Freyja, Forseti, Sunna ok Mani.

that at times they have 'tweaked' matters in my favour, but I am also very much of the belief, that they have better things to do with their time than be tripping over themselves to help me every two seconds. Hence, for the most part, I see the process of emulation to be the primary influence of the gods and goddesses in my life.

I hold Blot regularly with local folk to honour the gods and goddesses, the ancestors, and the landvaettir.

In real terms, I invariably state, yes. However, being a natural born sceptic, I am also cognisent of the fact that I may be overlaying what I wish to perceive on the gods and goddesses. Hence, I do consider the possibility that my interactions to date, have been internalised brain processes, imaginings if you will. That said, I have had experiences which were too 'intense' to have been simply imaginings, and hence am of the opinion that the gods and goddesses are indeed real.

What my God/ Goddess does for me.
a.) Knowing that I'll have clothes, a place to sleep, something in my stomache.

How many Gods/Goddesses do you follow?
a.) Depending on who wants me to run an errand.

Does your deity offer some sort of protection or aid in life?
a.) Would you believe me, if I said that they pay my bills in some form.

What kind of ceremonies do you perform to honor them, or call upon them?
a.) I simply say "Thank you" and keep a dream journal.

Have you met your god/ goddess face to face or in a dream.
a.) I lost count.

I must reply on this one...

What I know, is that Dreams and Visions are real.
--- sometimes, if you remain sober - there are things that still seem to have no logic behind it. ( Such as you can Scientifically, guess that a dino fossil is aged, or a wasp inside some amber that washes along the beach shore.)

The Second thing, is who is telling you their experience ?

Would you put your trust in someone, that lives in California or Hawaii - who asks if Odin or Freya would ever appear in a lush tropical setting, or such an arid desert for that matter...

Norse Gods / Goddesss aren't geographically challenged.

Perhaps, few will deny that they remember what they dream about last night. Still, who would guess if any of the Asatru - would decide to dress up, or even wear an item that is so out-dated.

The Third thing that bothers me the most - is when they speak in tounges. There's a sentance, even a word or two that gets spoken. I'm very certain, that if I just go online and check out a Translation Dictionary, I might know what they are talking about.

Maybe I said too much...

I prefer not to bother to look at how others will answer this.
---- I'm quite certain that I took my chance in answering this question.

the gods touch eevry moment of our lives, mostly we don't know about it. i do not worship them per se.. I'm just happy to know that they're on my side in case I need them and I'm on their side in case they need me.

Thor is the main god I worship. Before I ever found out about Asatru or realized I worshiped him I got him tattooed on my arm. I also for years wore a Mjollnir simply because I liked viking history. Now if I'm scared or worried, or tired. I pray to Thor for strength and courage. I feel like he has been there for me since birth. I also feel like Odin inspires me to ask questions, be more knowledgeable and sacrifice for the greater good. I don't yet sacrifice to them, I'm so new to this religion i want to learn how to do it properly before doing it wrong and pissing off the gods.
I also have a strong feeling the Fertility gods/goddesses hate me, just a little for being a lesbian and turning my back on them. lol.

Other than that I would love to know how to pay respect to the gods. If any of you could help with that pm me. redface

Baldur and Odin are my favored deities. I feel inspired by their deeds and leadership. I guess some of the biggest things they do for me is a path to follow and a level of personal growth I want to achieve. But I also think i've recieved help in other ways. It is always when i've been really working for something I sometimes get a greater results.

I really like that answer. 3nodding You speak so well. I have very similar views and feelings about it. I mean we're all pattern-seeking and see and recognize what we wish. But, some things are just too real to be the product of self-made imagination.
