As I was in our wonderful funny compromising positions thread, I read on of Horse_Lady's Posts that got me thinking. Do you think they are going to allow guns in the new battle system on gaia? It would just seem so harsh to me, to run around shooting other gaians with a glock 9mm. Do you think gaia will go the way of Joke weapons like a bubble gun? Or real weapons?

Hmmmm, interesting question. Well, I guess I don't think the same way as you do on this subject because this is all pixalated so I don't see much wrong if there were real weapons. However, I guess there are some people who would get offended. Gaia however, might not don't know what...I really don't know what they'll do. Maybe they'll have both so people can pick...Hmmmm, this really is an interesting question.

Well, we have swords and scythes and stuff alreayd on Gaia, so I don't see how a gun would be much different than that. Im' not sure the new battle system myself, it sounded really lame to me, so I don't know about that, but I don't think guns in general on Gaia would be too bad a thing. I mean, somet things offend people...some things...don't.

Anyway, on topic, a reason that Gaia wouldn't have guns is because the site kinda has a medieval-ish feel. Least, it did to me when I first joined.
The joke guns actually seem like a funny spoof event item thing. At first, when I read "bubble gun", I thought it said "bubble gum." But a gun that shot out bubble gum would be kinda funny.... *thinks*
But then would we have to buy ammo if they were, indeed, released for the battle system? Because that would suck if we were against a boss and ran out of ammo. But then, like in a bunch of video games, there would be stocks of ammo nearby, so you'd have a chance of killing the baddie.
But would we actually be able to attack other users in the battle system? I think that it would be kind of unfair, like, if a user from 2004 with an OMG happened to lose a battle with a real jerk-n00b-type person and then got the OMG for free while the 2004 user had worked for it.
Eep! I hope I'm not sounding too judgemental of new users. I like newbs, but y'all just gotta watch out for the n00bs.
*looks at my block of text* I type too much, I think.
Anyway, I got a question for you guys; if we WRE going to have guns on gaia or the battle system or whatever, what kinds of guns would you want? Bubble guns? Machine guns? Grenade launchers? (oooh, explosions *evil grin*) Or for a distance weapon, would you prefer a bow? Like with the western zodiac items in sagitarius's pose. Now that would be cool.
Okay, I'm done rambling now XD

I'm not quite sure myself. I would think they would allow hem since we have weapons way worse than guns already. -Ponders- I would see how some people would argue we shouldn't though. I really don't mind either way though. The only thing is, gaia is filled with little kids and guns are way too realistic. Yah know? So, they might make fake ones. Not saying the other weapons aren't realistic, but I'm saying you're more likely to stumbled across a gun in your house, not a 7 foot scythe.

Hmmm interesting question. Personally I think that would be going a little to far... I believe the gaiaonline battle system is not against fellow members of gaiaonline but against monsters. I'm not sure but from the screen shots they released a while back it seemed that way. I don't think that if they are giving us weapons that they would be swords, daggers, staffs, magic. I don't think gaiaonline would be one to support gun violence, to tell you the truth i think the battle system would be fun but I think there is a line that they are beginning to cross. I mean come on a gaia car? Yeah it's fun but don't you think thats a little much? More things we don't need to want us to spend our hard earned gold. XD
People have always wanted guns for gaia but personally I think, close as we are ever going to get to guns on gaia is the gun on the police belt in the Derum Deport. XD
Yes many members of gaia want guns but I don't think they are ever going to make guns as an item or for the battle system. I just think that is something they don't want to promote.
BUT if they do I think that would be crossing a line...

I know that the swords and scythes and stuff are pretty gruesome weapons if you really stop to think about it, but none of them have the tabooness (I'm not sure I'm being clear here, so if you need me to elaborate let me know) that guns do. To my knowledge, none of those violent video game lawsuit thingamijigers have gone after swords, Scythes or staffs. Plus gaia is full of kids, and the last thing they would want is the gun control people saying they're encouraging youth violence.
To answer horse's question I would heart love heart to run around towns with a bubble gun. I'd get such a kick out of it. I'd also love a lazer tag gun, a gun that squirts lime jello and a Nerf gun, although that might be copyright infringement.
Also, Horse brought up the idea of a dueling system (involuntarily). Would that be fesable? Would you be willing to bet your items or gold?
