In the center of the Main Square there is a large bulletin board where city inhabitants post wanted ads and requests. Many wizards can respond to these requests for a little extra cash, to help finance their magical research. Requests may be varied, but they may pay in items or dragon eggs in addition to coins which may be used to purchase things from the merchants shops.

Current Requests (As of March, closed due to revamping, currently posted replies will still be honored, but no more will be accepted until revamping is complete.) Maria Anelley I've lost the key to my garden greenhouse, and my poor old eyes are not sharp enough any more to search my yard. I must have dropped it after tending my tomatoes. I need a young pair of eyes to help me look for it, and I'll give any kind helpers some of my tomatoes. How to Respond to RequestsResponding to requests requires a wizard persona, and it would help the staff if it were posted in a notebook in the Central Library subforum. Responses should be posted in this thread as a small RP post written in character. For example, there may be an advertisement posted like this one. Posted Ad Looking for subjects for research on dragon feather structure. Please contact Alen Haggerty, room 135 in the Research and Instructional Institute. Compensation of 22 gold coins, and a phoenix feather. Clean dragons only, please. If you have a dragon with a trait that includes visible feathers, you could respond to this ad. Here's an example of a reply. Sample Post Katrina stopped by the bulletin on her way back from market with a fresh basket of fruit. Alan Haggerty's note stood out, and the reward was decent, so she coaxed her feathered dragon Silverwing onto her shoulder when she arrived home and immediately left again for the research institute. She quickly located room 135, and knocked on the door. You'll get a response back, to say whether your response was what the advertiser was looking for. It might look something like this. Sample Reply Alen Haggerty threw open the door, looking rather worse for wear. His arms were covered in dragon scratches, and his hair was somewhat scorched, but he eagerly took the dragon and carefully extracted a loose feather. He handed back the dragon, along with copious thanks, 22 coins, and the promised phoenix feather. At this point, items will have been logged under your name, and you can use any coins or element stones. If you have been rewarded with a dragon egg, the tag will also be posted with the response.

RP Character Requests
If your wish to trade items or offer a reward for a specific item from what your wizard persona owns, just PM the mule, Shopping District, with your request and it will be put up with the NPC requests. To remove a request, PM the mule.
Keep in mind:
* You must currently own the item(s) you are offering for a reward.
* Responding to any inquiries about your request are your responsibility.
* Because this mule is checked infrequently, a request should be posted only if you are sure you are willing to part with the item.

Diedre hesitantly knocked on door 451, holding Lilith closely to her more for her own comfort than to keep the dragon from escaping. She disliked using her for experiments, but coins were not often found just lying around and she really wanted to give Lilith something to eat other than the measly meals that she currently got.

Carmina put a reassuring hand on Elohwi as she knocked upon the door to 451 with the other.
"Don't worry, Elowhi, you've got plenty of hair! Besides you'll be helping with thermal conductiwhozitz research. It sounds important." she said, waiting for an answer to the knock, and lowered her voice to add, "Plus we need the money to get a new bunsen burner. You remember my little accident with the Wormwort last week."
Elohwi merely rolled her eyes. Oh yes, she remembered.

Tuyet looked quite curiously up at the dragon in Diedre's arms and then to Elohwi, her horned head tilted to the side as she wrapped her tufted tail around Viorel's ankle, bright eyes searching for an explanation as to why they were here. Sharp claws scraped anxiously against the ground as she waited, nearly shaking with excitement as the white dragon struggled with the urge to sniff around.
Viorel drew his cloak tighter around his shoulders, bright blue eyes staring expectantly at the number on the door - 451 - and occasionally interrupted by an errant strand of dark hair, listening quietly to the other female's intones. The young man dressed in white and varying shades of blue chanced a glance at the others, knowing full well that they were here for this professor, as well as the promised gold. Maybe he'd be able to afford some trinket for his companion?

The door swung open, revealing Prof. Von Hitziger in all his stately glory. He eyed the offered dragon carefully, making a note of gender and element, and other such details, before taking a few hairs from her tail. He made his thanks, more to Lilith than to Diedre, and handed out the offered payment of three coins, before shuffling back inside.

This time, he sampled hairs from Elowhi's forelimbs as well as her mane after making his notes. Again, he thanked the duo for their help and made the promised reward.

What a nice introduction to the family. Auralia, meet Vlasia, Stolz, and Nirvikara...now, meet scissors.
As if the small clipping would actually hurt the dragon.
All three of them rested on Vlasia's shoulder - Auralia, Stolz, and Nirvikara - as she strode purposefully down a hallway of the Order. She had noticed the bulletin requesting samples of dragon fur, and noticed that her newest dragon, Auralia, had quite a bit of fur on her neck....well, put two and two together. Now, Vlasia approached the dwelling of the very one who had posted the notice. Eh, why not - she would actually be doing a good deed, and getting a bit of a reward for it.
Sure, you were supposed to do good deeds without payment, but she was rarely like that.
The girl knocked on the door of room 451 as soon as she approached it, waiting patiently for an answer. Auralia chattered calmly on her shoulder, completely oblivious.

If anything, Photon should have been entered into an oddity exhibit rather than helping with thermal conductive experiments. The weird little glowing dragon was currently wrapped around Ix's leg, it's long whiskers dragging the ground a bit as he walked. Ix wasn't above using his dragons in experiments. Hell, he used them in his -own- experiments all the time, so taking a bit of hair from one shouldn't be too much trouble right? Smirking to himself, the green haired one knocked on the door to 451 and waited.

Raelan certainly had no need of spare coins, but he often passed the market bulletin board when he was out purchasing new spell ingredients and fresh groceries. When he noticed the scientific request, he paused to look at his watch. Surely he had time.
The boy stopped at the home he shared with Ix long enough to put away the groceries, lock his spell components away so they wouldn't end up a part of any accident, and summon Valeo and Amini to his shoulders. He did spend a decent amount of time chasing down Bijou, but his dragon guest was not nearly as well behaved as the pair he actually owned, and in the end he left the mischievous creature at home.
He quickly made his way to the Research Institute and located room 451. It was certainly outside regular class hours by the time he knocked on the door.
