In order to bring some life back into the guild, I thought I'd ask whether anyone is a) looking to join a campaign, b) would be interested in joining a particular type of campaign, c) would be interested in DMing, but doesn't feel like their abilities are needed, or d) really doesn't have time for this Gaia D&D stuff this summer.

That's a lot of letters, so let me break this down into categories.

a) If you want to join a campaign, post here. I'll throw something together if a couple've people are interested.

b) If you're looking for something specific, mention it when you post for 'a'. Survivial horror, tactical, political, evil, high-level, under-powered, aquatic, whatever.

c) Your abilities might be more in need than you think. Take a look at this thread from time to time. See if anyone's posted for 'a' or 'b'. Think about whether you have the time to run a campaign. If everything checks out, you've got a perfect DMing opportunity.

d) Let me know anyways. There are a lot of inactive members in this guild. It'd be nice to know which ones would post if they actually had a reason to.

I love playin and have a lot of character ideas i want to try. Im about to partake in a D20 Appacholyse type game. Kind of a Dawn of the dead/Resident Evil/wierd wars kinda thing.

Im joining a pre-exhisting group so i get to be a little more out there... IM runnin a Half vampire or a day walker. Have to learn the abilities, and im the only spell caster in the group. Im running an NPC type Adept. Focusing on combat over magic. And using magic more as a support/buff kind of thing.

That sounds really cool. I have no idea how to run one of those, but if enough people are interested in something like that, I could try scrounging for the books.

That would be really cool if you could find it. Especially if you wanted to DM.

I've been pretty busy lately. I did partially build two modules for a campaign, but I'm not terribly happy with either one. One is very combat-heavy, and a little bit off-scale. The other requires me to write out a ton of environmental effects, which I don't really want to do.

However, I have gotten in touch with a gaming circle that plays Inquisitor once a week. It's a combat/mission objective oriented role playing game from the Warhammer 40k universe. It's been pretty fun so far, and I was wondering if anyone a) is familiar with Warhammer 40k/Inquisitor, or b) has any thoughts on how to convert it to play on a forum.

Oh, the content's all available for free online, so feel free to check out Inquisitor

...that sounded like a shameless plug. It wasn't. Inquisitor definitely has its faults, but it's fun despite them.

I am not familiar with rp this way. I've played table top and in chat rooms.
I'm familiar with D&D, Advanced D&D and 2nd Ed. Haven't touched 3rd. I got tired of them re-writing character sheets and changing it around to get more money and not improve the game. I've also played some Palladium.
While I like to DM, I've got my hands full on that with a on line chat game.

I haven't heard of Palladium. What's that like?

that kinda remindes me of when my group played a resident evil based game. lol a demon sent us through a time warp and we were in racoon city and yeah just rambling here

Palladium was AD&D's biggest competition at one time. They had mind mages which were like psionics years before D&D did.

I love you *glomp* you have restored my faith in the largest system no one ever plays, lol. I love Palladium books, and know most of their games, especially Rifts. I'm running the World's Largest Dungeon right now but if enough want to play a Palladium Books game I could come up with one for that too.

I have heard of Rifts. If you feel you're up to the stress of running two games, I would absolutely be willing to join.

If you wanted another section even for these alternate games, just say the word. If it pertains to this guild's betterment, I am for it.

hey, well if anyone ends up doing something with rifts I'd be up for it. Rifts is actually what I had messed around with before I got into D&D. I'm no expert, but I've had fun with it, and I'd be up for trying it. I even wrote a couple OCC's at one point...
