In the 7th Potter book, JK Rowling said that there would be more talk about Dumbledore and his family. Well, I was just rereading Order of the Phoenix and I saw something that struck me. So I had to share it.
On page 174 of the US paperback version of OoTP, in the beginning of the 3rd paragraph on that page it reads:
"That's Dumbledore's brother, Aberforth, only time I ever met him, strange bloke..."
Well, I thought that he'd probably been killed by the time Harry was 15 in OoTP so I dismissed it and thought nothing more of it, until I read this, also in the US paperback version of OoTP, the very last paragraph on page 336 it reads:
"The barman sidled towards them out of a back room. He was a grumpy-looking old man with a great deal of long, gray hair and beard. He was tall and thin and looked vaguely familiar to Harry."
Could it possibly be that, that Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore's brother, Aberforth Dumbledore, is in fact the BARMAN at the HOG'S HEAD.
..it was just a small thing I stumbled upon that seemed like something small the JK purposely slipped in (she doesn't just put things in her books like this on accident!) to see if her readers would catch it or not.
What do you think, Broken Broomstick?
