Quest of Cosmos (seeking willing adventurers)

Legends passed down from the beginning of time tell of the creation of the world. In the beginning the gods existed in a great void. The gods had great power, but what good was their power in the midst of a sea of endless nothing. In order to satisfy their great longing, the gods forged an artifact so powerful it could create - or destroy - an entire existence. With this artifact the gods created the universe and populated it with living things both great and small. The creation was worthy of the gods that created it, and the inhabitants could admire the gods and all that they had made. The gods knew, however, that the artifact they had forged to create the universe was far to powerful. If it were ever to fall into the hands of the mortals that populated their creation, disaster would befall all of existence. In order to prevent this the gods split their artifact into eight pieces and scattered them across the world...

Ancient manuscripts describe the artifact of the gods: the Cosmic Amulet. Each of its eight parts was used to create a particular facet of the universe. There were four parts for each of the elemental substances of earth, wind, water, and fire, and four more parts for each of the elemental forces of light, magnetism, electricity, and gravity. Any one of these parts yields absolute control over the substance or force it created. When all eight pieces are brought together the Cosmic Amulet is complete, and contains all the power of creation - or destruction - of the universe.

The amulet was once regarded as nothing more than ancient superstitions, but now one of the pieces has been found.
