They keep coming out with all these reports of things that might cancer and well, the list is starting to get pretty long. All types of drugs, from illgeal susbtances to over the counter medicine. Diet soda. Coffee. Stress. Trauma. Make-up. Cleaning products. Deodorant. Chemicals in general, I suppose. Certain foods. Certain environments. Etc., etc. EVERYTHING CAUSES CANCER! Apparently.
If something like water or oxygen gets put down as a possible cause of cancer, I'm going to smoke a pack a day and down it with a keg, I swear.

Peanut butter causes lung cancer. Ponies cause leukemia. Laughter causes heart disease.
Watch out people, snack foods and fun are coming at us by force....

It's official. We must all live on organic rice cakes and steamed cabbage now... as everything else causes cancer.
Seriously though... I'll have to research why they believe so many things are carcinogenic. As one who eats whatever pleases my muse (I know, I am a bad junk food snorting writer) I don't think I ever gave it much thought.

The thing I liked most about that were two news posts, one posted one day, the other the next:
"Grapefruit causes breast cancer in post-menopausal women" "Eating a fried breakfast with a glass of grapefruit juice can help breast cancer drugs be more effective"
It's like...one day it causes cancer, the next it's shown to help boost the effectiveness of drugs against that same type of cancer xp

Things are now becoming considered carcinogenic simply because they are chemical in nature and thus not really meant for human consumption (Like aspartame)
Or the human body is getting so weak and the environment is getting so polluted that normal amounts of something can now cause harm.
Like the case of sunlight causing skin cancer. We eat a shitty diet with little or no aminos, (Aminos fight the free radicals that cause cancer) we don't spend much time outside, we have a hole in the ozone layer that raises the amount of UV rays inherent in sunlight.
And ta-da, our bodies can't handle the UV radiation in sunlight and we get skin cancer.
In general, anyway. I don't really wear sunscreen, I get outside plenty, and I have a pretty good diet, so I think I'll be alright.

Actually, there are a number of medicinal mushrooms that help prevent, and some even have been proven to cure certain types of cancer. Personally, I take Cordyceps, also mixed with Turkey Tail and Reishi mushrooms. Cordyceps alone give about a 30% increase in ATP production, and a 30% boost in oxygen uptake.

Oh water can cause cancer biggrin , or rather, what's in the water can.
What's in your water? [/end paranoia increase]
Give it a few years... "Science shows that saliva can cause cancer, but only when swallowed in small amounts over long periods of time." (modified George Carlin quote, cuz I can't find the original).

Tammy Seignfree Oddly enough, cancer does not cause cancer anymore. It doesn't? Scientists will eventually catch onto that and develop a friendly cancer and fill our bodies with it, so there's no room for the deadly cancer to grow. Being a living tumor, oh what a glorious life that'll be.

Anyways, if everything was cancerous, wouldn't that lead to giant humans? o_O

Everything causes cancer, and sometimes absolutely nothing causes cancer. Cancer is where abnormal cells divide with out control and spread into other tissues. Things with a large amount of chemicals or certain kinds of chemicals are more likely to cause it. Eh I just try not to worry about it, if I get cancer I'll just sit it out unless they can cut me open and take it out. If they can't oh well, chemotherapy hurts like a b***h and if I've got three months to live I'm going to party it up, I'm not going to make it four months and be bed ridden for the entire four months with Chemo.

There are many instances of people curing themselves of cancer by making dramatic lifestyle changes, such as dietary changes (cutting out processed food, sugar, etc) also doing things like quitting smoking, getting exercise.
It's a lot of work, but it beats the hell out of chemo. You don't hear much about these cases because of the reach of the drug companies and their tie-ins with the rest of the "health" industry.
