 "Gus, don't be a gooey chocolate-chip cookie."Burton "Gus" Guster is Shawn Spencer's best friend, since they were children, and co-owns the detective agency "Psych" with him, after Shawn was able to forge Gus' name on the lease. Gus tends to be straight-laced and more cautious, although he has been friends with Shawn for long enough that he understands that Shawn cannot be stopped once his mind has been made. He functions as the straight man for Shawn's antics, and provides sobering advice and steady support.
Gus seems to have an affinity for "dangerous women," spelling bees, safecracking, tennis, astronomy, law, the American Civil War, and comic books. His nose, oft titled "the SuperSmeller," has helped move along a number of cases, including those in Woman Seeking Dead Husband: Smokers Okay, No Pets, From the Earth to the Starbucks and Spellingg Bee.

I loved that episode. ^^
& the one where Gus is trying to get to the observatory
but not let Shawn follow him, so he's driving in zigzags in the parking lot.
