Please respect the beliefs and cultures of others. You don't have to agree with it, but don't bash each other for being different.
This sub forum was created in hopes we could learn more about each others cultures and even find out more about the foundations of our own beliefs and religions.
You may find that even though they sound different, they carry similar messages.

Originally, they were the same. Jesus was a Jew. Most people think that because Christianity was based on his teachings that he was Christian. Not so, but because he strayed from the Jewish style his actions were frowned upon and he was considered a heretic.
Christianity developed long after the Man was dead (and resurrected). The founding council used the teachings of Jesus, and combined them with popular traditions for Greek/Roman, Jewish, and Pagan (probably others as well) so the new religion would be easier to accept by the population.

I wish there was peace as well. But we have too many people who believe their religion is the One True Religion, or are influenced by greed/power, and other such notions.
Only thing we can do to reduce this is by our examples. We may feel like we are not doing much, but one little pebble with the right amount of momentum can start a rock slide.

i agree, but i also feel that people are believing what they are told to believe, and many people are letting other people tell them how to think about things, or just letting people think for them. that is how i feel anyway.

yeah I know and you are right.
Most of it is out of fear. We don't want to appear different otherwise be shunned by our families and our communities, nor do we want to invite evil into our lives and afterlife by stepping beyond what we have been taught. By following the rules and living according to the thoughts of mainstream society we don't have to think for ourselves, it gives us a sense of security, and someone else to blame when things go wrong.

but i feel as if, when something does go wrong, people still go about doing the wrong thing, because they are afraid to think for themselves. not only about religion, but in everthing. views in paticular, are tought to a person which is not necessarilly the correct path to follow.
