Below are the rules and format for fighting. There are some different versions for different battles. Bear in mind that the first version is also tournament style, so you have to adapt to it regardless. Also let it be known that I personaly will only be throwing two on two tournaments. All else are up to the other mods.

Battle Format

Below are the formats for battles within the threads. Some of the formats may apply to the same style battle so you must make it clear which format you plan to use in such cases.

One on One

arrow The starting warrior posts first, followed by the opponent's post.

arrow For a post to be complete, the character must counterattack, evade, or defend. In the case of evasions, the post must be descriptive enough to indicate that your character has chosen to await the opponent's next move. The same applies to a defense. Otherwise you must attack your opponent before he/she can make the next move. If you do not make this clear, it is still your turn and you will have to edit your post.

arrow This seems very basic and I don't expect any trouble with this format. The fight will continue until a character quits, is KO'd or a judge calls the match.

arrow Exclusive in Central, posting format is now termed as "reaction only." This means that after the initial post, all subsequent posts are to be made as a reaction to the opponent's entire post, not part of it. If an opponent punches, kicks, and then throws you, then you are punched, kicked, and then thrown. You react to being thrown, having already taken the punch and the kick. HOWEVER, just because the punch and kick (which are technically auto-hits) connected, does not mean you take any damage. You still decide to what degree your character was damaged, otherwise it's considered godmodding on behalf of your challenger.

Two on Two

arrow The starting character begins. Rather than being followed by your partner, the opposing team moves next. Next it ends with your ally's post. Then the starting character moves again.

arrow A character has the option of not only choosing which opponent to attack, but also choosing to defend or heal his/her ally.

arrow Post requirements are the same as one on one battle.

arrow A match is ruled 'over' either when both fighters on one team are KO'd, both members quit, or a judge calls a match. If one fighter on a team is left standing, the match continues until he/she is defeated or quits.

Two on Two v2

arrow Starting character posts first, followed by ally, and then finished by opposing team. All other Two on Two rules apply as stated above.

Two on Two v3

arrow Starting character moves, followed by one opponent, then ally, and ended with final opponent. All other Two on Two rules apply.

Three on Three

I'm not expecting this to be used as much, but just in case...

arrow Initial character starts first. Next is one ally, followed by two member on the other team. Then comes your final ally and then ended with the opponents' last member.

arrow All other rules that apply to two on two apply here. Once again, it doesn't matter how many members are left standing in one team. The team must be completely defeated before the match is over.

Three on Three v2

arrow Starting team begins, each member posting, and then the opposing team finishes.

arrow Needless to say the same rules apply from v1

Three on Three v3

arrow This is pretty much an A-B-A-B-A-B style where A is the first team and B is the opposing team. The other three on three rules apply as stated above.

One on Two

arrow In the case of one on two, the team attacks first and then the individual moves.

arrow The solo fighter does not post after each fighter on the team. You must wait until the entire team has posted. In your one post, you have to defend, counter, heal, etc. If you forget to do something such as block one attack, you will either edit, or it will be assumed you were hit. We won't point this out to you so keep up with the fight.

arrow Eseentially, a solo fighter probably can't attack everyone in one post. Therefore unless, the attack can be used on a multiple of enemies at once, target only one person per post. By constantly jumping around to get a hit on everyone, your character will naturally run out of energy faster and no one has infinite stamina no matter how many times they take on two fighters. Also, by throwing a punch at one person and immediately moving into another attack to someone else, you leave very little room for counter attacks, which can lead to dull fighting.

arrow The terms for ending a match are the same as all other fights.

One on Three

arrow The team will start with their posts before the solo fighter. All other rules in one on two apply.

Two on Three

arrow Okay I'm using the letter example again for the battle order. When in a two on three battle, follow the A-A-B-B-A format.

arrow Remember that no one fighter can constantly keep hopping into chains of attacks on multiple enemies.

arrow Rules 2 and 4 in Two on Two format applies.

Two on Three v2

arrow All previous rules in v1 apply, except the post order will be A-B-A-B-A. That's all.

Rules

arrow First and formost, NO godmodding. I don't care about consent when it comes to this rule. If you are unaware that you are godmodding, you will be notified by a mod. Do not argue with them, simply adjust your post style as best you can. <>

arrow No killing. This rule does have exceptions. If all participants agree to a death match, a character is given prior consent before a battle to kill, or the fight is choreographed, then killing will be allowed. By choreogrpahed, I mean that the fight was already orchestrated. Regardless of this rule, tournament matches will never permit killing. For more on this rule, see the rules for Central.

arrow No surprise tactics. If your character pulls off a move that is not listed in your profile, you must edit your post and remove the technique. Remember that even if you edit your profile during the fight, that move remains inaccessible until that fight is over.

arrow Your posts must be open ended regardless of punches, kicks, supernatural attacks, or throws, etc. A grab is not a godmode so long as you do not do any damage to the character. Remember that the only person who determies damage to a character is that character himself. Also remember that taking no damage is a godmode.

arrow Use detail. If your post isn't specific enough, your challenger will have trouble determining how to respond. Detail your attacks, defenses, locations, and positions (upside down, sideways, standing on one foot, etc.). i.e: Do not simply punch and opponent. State where your punch is going and which arm you are using.

arrow If you have to leave in the middle of a fight, post an exit or quit. Do not just vanish mysteriously and have us all waiting on you. This includes stepping away momentarily. Give us a warning so we know to wait or end the match. Unfortunately, if you have to leave in the middle of a tournament match, your character must forfeit. Discouraging I know, but there will be no frozen battles.
