This is a sticky containing all relevant info regarding all the scandals: Hot coffee, ect. It isn't complete yet, I just need to put it all together.

Hot Coffee

Basically, there was a special mini game created by rockstar called 'Hot Coffee'. This was a game that when your girl friend invited you in for coffee the screen wouldn't just go black and you hear noises, you would actually be inside your girl friends house with her fully naked and you could have interactive sex. Close to the launch of the game Rockstar decided to pull the plug on this mini game because they thought they would get a lot of troubler with parents etc about it and so they decided to prevent you from playing it. They removed the direct link to the mini game when you go for coffee it goes to the thing you normally see.

The thing is though, they didn't delete it off of the discs. People have readthrough the code on the disc, found it and opened it on a PC and they discovered the mini game. There was then a PC modification made so that you could download the game and it became a part of your regular play. People went wild over this. Some loved it, some hated it, some had a laugh and others... well they just didn't really care. Now on to the stupid part.

The Scandal

The news spread about the modification and it soon reached the ears of... well ... people who hate GTA, and all things violent. The modification was reported and there was an investiagtion in to Rockstars part in the hot coffee mod. They denied making the modifcation, they did make it but they didn't intend people to play it.

On captiol hill, the house representatives voted and with a huge majority vote for a federal trades commision inquiry in to GTA: San Andreas. I think this is opresive ******** crap and really need to be stopped.

Read more about this Here and Here

Here is a quote from the article on gta-sandandreas.com that I think you should all listen to:

GTA San Andreas.com
Those of you living in the United States that are 17 years and older we ask that you write to your representatives asking them to stop this persecution of free speach and free expression. Write to your newspapers and talk to the media. Tell them to work on real issues such as Social Security, Poverty, the lack of Medical care for many americans, and the Economy. We urge you to take action because if you dont tell your representatives to stop wasting money on foolish investigations and suppression of free thinking one day our constitution may be nothing more than meaningless trinket.

*Update*

Here's something stickman had discovered:

Despite such admonishments, Take-Two is facing legal trouble of another kind...in civil court. This morning, according to the Associated Press, a lawsuit was filed against the publisher in the Southern District of New York. According to the AP, plaintiff Florence Cohen claims she was "damaged" after learning of the sex minigames hidden in San Andreas, as she had bought what she thought was an M-for-Mature-rated game for her grandson.

The damages sought are in excess of $5 million. Cohen accused Take-Two of "consumer deception" and "false advertising" while current TV ads on Comedy Central have been edited to include "Rated AO, For Adults Only" at the end of the ad.

I know it's old news but the new investigation involving the government accusing rockstar of decieving about the hot coffee. I saw that just a few minutes before making the post and decided to mention the whole story to the whole guild.

I think we need to draw as much attention to it as possible. I mean, we need to get a message to the government about what WE want, the people who plays the games. It seems as though the mothers and reilgeous exstremeists who don't play the games are in charge.

You do gotta admit one thing though... Rockstar didn't mention the "Hot Coffee mini-game" to the ESRB. They did kind of undermine them. BUT that doesn't give an excuse for parents, lawyers, and religous extremists to go after video gaming.

Yeah... it wasn't intended for playing though. I wouldn't think it would need mentioning seeing as you actually need to alter the games coding to access the game (not that much but still...) but yeah they should have at least mentioned it.... but then again if they had they probbably would have just made it adult anyway.

If I remember right, you have to do two seperate things to get the full mini game as it was supposed. You have to "activate" the mini game, and then you have alter the coding slightly to make the GF's naked. rolleyes

Personally I think the mods alright, it's just realy funny. I have a video of it and it's nothing more then harmless fun. The stupid thing is though, CJ is fully clothed. Not that I'm complaining, it just seems weird lol

What I'd like to know is why haven't BMX Triple X, which has actual nudity gotten an AO rating. Or better yet God Of War, which has nudity and an actual sex minigame.

The GTA series has been a huge controversy ever since GTA 3. But, there hasn't been anything bad enough to raise a huge fuss over. When Wacko Jacko (Jack Thompson) found out about "Hot Coffee" he pounced, because this was the chance he'd bee waiting for, to make himself a household name, a name that everyone knows.
Sadly, only GTA fanboys online know about him, even after all of this. He's never been in one of our local newspapers, ever. lol
I heard a rumor about the sex mini-game a few months before GTA came out, but I thought it was a hoax. rolleyes
