The Bangaa. I find them to be one of the more useless races. They are all power and nothing else. They have high ATK stats, but low everything else, except maybe DEF. They have very few classes, which are all easy to unlock. They can't be leveled up easily either, nearly all attacks with hit them. Are their superior abilities enough to make up for their sad SPD and Move attributes?

Hey Marth! What are the Bangaa to you? Transformers? Ha-ha! Get it?
Seriously now, I see yer point cuz they are the only race that has powerful attack/defense stats (not to mention some pretty neat moves) but nothing to make them more accurate like the other races do. At least Nu Mou have "MP Turbo" so they don't miss as often; but the Bangaa don't even have "Concentrate"! What the heck were the developers thinking!? rolleyes As for speed, well.. If you level up a Bangaa as a "White Monk" they'll get a decent speed boost but I have yet to see a Bangaa with a natural speed of over 188. One of mine has about 190 and that's with some speed enhancing equipment/accessories. If only they could have a support ability that could make him miss less cuz, he misses more times than I would like. It's frustrating! stressed So, does anyone else have something to add? neutral

ah, yes, the bangaa. I use them sometimes, but not often. but what they are useful for, in my opinion, is their spear wielding ability (depending on the class) you just gotta love hitting two enemies at once.

I hear ya! Whenever "Target Area" is forbidden, I like to bring Monid (the only Bangaa in my team with a spear) into battle cuz he won't get carded. If that law is not around though, I much rather go with a morpher or a summoner (depending on the laws and enemies). 3nodding

I dunno, I never had a problem with my bangaa. Dragoon gives them a reraise move (I think that might be the only way to get it movewise), which restores their HP by half when they die. Combine this with the Templar move that does as much damage as you've lost HP, and you can slam even the most defensive opponents with half your bangaa's considerable HP's worth of defense-ignoring goodness. Also, as important as speed is (I admit it is very), it means little without sufficient power backing it up. Bangaa might not move quite as often, but when they do, they make it count. Despite the drawbacks, my bangaa regularly found his way into my frontlines.
Thought I'd lend support to the other side of the argument.

That's great! I bet you must like "Earth Render" a lot, don't you? It's got to be a really useful ability for the white monks and only they learn it. But as good as the bangaa are, they can never take first place in my eyes. mrgreen

No race can really be considered "the best". Any team of all one race is at a disadvantage against a diverse team that knows what it's doing.
Also, Templars can learn haste, which counteracts the speed problem somewhat.
I used the Aura -> Lifebreak with R-Ability Dragonheart strategy to beat Mateus. With her high defense and tendency to kill people, it worked wonders.
Ah well, I'm out of ammo. I'm not saying Bangaa are the best, by any means. I'm just arguing that they are far from useless.

ive have seen some that are very powerful..but on one of my accounts the banngaa was really weak and couln't do much damage or go very fast or anything D< it was very annoying...maybe it depends on the character at the start of the game?? neutral

Nice going Silent-Iridium! Those are very good points. I found that even with haste, a unit won't make good use of it if its speed is very low. rolleyes But geez, that combo with "Lifebreak" is very good. I never thought of it actually and, now I don't need cuz my best bangaa has a "Sequence" (a special sword) that has an attack power of 103 and rising. And it will keep rising for as long as I can keep doing the "Battle Tourney" mission every kingmoon. 3nodding And as I see it, no race is useless. It depends on how you use them and their abilities.
And you know what? I've found out that it doesn't matter what kind of bangaa you get at the start of the game. If you can't level it up in the right jobs, it won't get good stats and it will end up being a poor unit. I hear that the job of warrior awards the most HP to a bangaa so, if you don't level it up as one, it won't have much HP and it may not be able to use "Lifebreak" in all its glory. BTW, do you know what could be great to use with Aura & Lifebreak? "Meltdown"! Cuz if nobody is willing to attack you, you can always cut your own HP down and take at least one opponent with you (or at the very least bring their HP down by a lot).

I never really had the patience to develop my Sequence very far... sweatdrop Ooh, Meltdown's a good idea! I'll have to try that once I get my game back up to snuff.

No? Gee, that's too bad. And what's worse, you can't trade a sequence so you can't have a friend upgrade it for you and then have it back. I'd be happy to do it for you but I doubt you live here in Guatemala. mrgreen
Cool! I'm glad you liked my meltdown idea. I think it can be pretty good to use against dragons and other enemies that have high defense. You know, I was just playing with one of my bangaas and I was a bit surprised to see that, while using the ability "jump" he could do more damage than by using his "Bangaa cry" ability. I should have known that Jump's attack power depends on the weapon he has equipped while, "Bangaa cry" doesn't.

I'm playing it on an emulator anyway. No trading for me... sweatdrop
My bangaa hasn't really trained that much outside of White Monk and Bishop. He's got 2 or 3 moves as both a Defender and Templar, but that's it. He's a Templar now, though, so I'm on my way. I'm kind of focusing on one job at a time on this playthrough.

Gee, that's tough. That means you have to stick to my method of finding mythril weapons, huh? Said method is in the tutorial panel sub-forum btw...
I see... How many times have you played so far? Have you posted about it already?

Nah, it's alright. I did fine my first playthrough, and I never traded then... besides, it's not a big deal to me whether I get all the combos. I already have the mythril sword, knightsword, knife, rapier, greatbow, spear, and knuckle, so it's not like I'm hurting for combos. XD
This would be my second playthrough. When I had the cartridge I had basically beaten it, so I temporarily traded with a guy at my school who had Final Fantasy I & II for GBA (which I still have, by the way... ^^). Except, something weird happened, (like maybe he pulled it out or turned it off without saving, I dunno), and my game got erased. When stuff like that happens, it generally stops my interest in that game, so I never got around to trading him back. Anyway, he moved away, taking it with him. No big deal, I bought it cheap from my friend when he got tired of it or something.

So that means you have another cartridge then? Good to know you ain't focusing on the combos. But you know, I don't mind starting over as long as it's on a great game like this. True, I would be upset if someone deleted my file (Especially the one with 538 hours on it). Still, it might give me a reason to start over... not sure though but, it just might... rolleyes
