Prologue
“This is the way the world ends, this is the way the world ends, this is the way the world ends; not with a bang but with a whimper.” These words by T.S. Eliot have a meaning behind them. Yes, in a way there was a bang, a bang some call “EO-19” and others “Satan upon his fiery horse”, but that wasn’t how It ended. Neigh, that just put the events in motion. As you read these words, people all around the globe are dieing. And in great numbers. Those who aren’t dieing from the chaos of the EO-19 explosion and aftermath, are dieing from how unprepared they were. It was a scene some see in their nightmares, and other seeing in their brightest dreams. For “Death of humans means life for the earth”.
There was a man named Jack Gedio, who started an organization which created EO-19 and that sparked the chaos which followed. Jake had a wife, named Rachael. She was the one who activated EO-19 in Diamond Hills, CA, however it did not go as smoothly as it did for the others. She went into labor with her child, yet she went on with the plan, despite her pain. Jack was by her side when it happened, but the power plant overloaded and she died shortly after her child was born. Oh, Jack wept until his eyes burned and he coule bearly see in front of him. He took the child. He named it Zane, after the figure who we still know little about. The figure, which we first encountered in multiple visions within Jack, inhabited the child’s body.
After the child was named Zane, he immediately was able to walk, which alone showed that this was no ordinary child. Zane took a few steps, and approached his father. He could hear Zane’s voice within his head, ten times stronger then his own thoughts. He ordered him to pick up his wife's body and leap into the fires which EO-19 created. Jack and Rachael Gedio had played their part. Now it was Zane’s turn to finish the job of “Cleansing the world of this plague, and returning the world to Eden”.
There was another man. His name was Neko Anderson, also of Diamond Hills, CA. Rejected from his family, he wandered the world and met many people as he traveled. When EO-19 struck, he was what some of us would call a hero. He gathered a large group of people, united them, and lead them away from the chaos. They came to Longbeach, California and gathered many onto a large cargo ship. They went to the islands of Hawaii, which had very few inhabitants left after EO-19. Together, they founded a city which they named “Hinansho”, which is Japanese for “Haven”. The story of the end, if this truly is the end, begins here: twenty three years after EO-19. Hinansho is now a blossoming city. And Neko Anderson is the leader. He is fifty three, and still leading the city. Then a small lifeboat, containing three people, arrives in Hinansho. Who are these three? And can they be trusted? Take my hand and lets go to the beach. A crowd is gathering. Don’t worry, I’ll help you through this. But be aware that I wont be here for long. Many need a hand to hold onto in times like these. . .
