Math was not pleased- by any stretch of the imagination- to hear another knock on his door. He had a moment's hope that it could be Cicero coming back inside, but he doubted it- Cice wouldn't knock. The sorcerer scowled through the window as he checked his visitor's identity, but his anger backed down to wariness as he took in the long white coat and rose-orange hair that flicked aside to examine him neutrally before he opened the door.
"Rossaspina. Where's your master?" he asked quietly, eyes tense as he stepped aside. The taller man swept past him like a dark summer's breeze, flicking a hand to indicate that he should secure the door.
"Epsilon got the message, he'll be along when he chooses. I...understand you have not failed as dismally as we had all thought," his counterpart stated, unease entering his tone with the last phrase. He shifted awkwardly, like a little boy, as Math nodded silently.
"Yes. Gamma seems to be recovering well...I'm looking forward to him being healthy again," Math told him softly, and Ross fidgeted with a piece of his long hair.
"Well, I was very disappointed in you," he finally burst out, a blush coloring his cheeks even as his tone stayed heated. "You were supposed to be much better than that, and I really think that we should be smart enough to work around our Magi even when they're being canny and trying to out-think us," he reprimanded. By this time his arms were crossed over his chest, and his clear green eyes were glaring at Math.
Unabashed, Math stepped closer and poked him with one long finger. You...are just upset because I made you stay mad at me for so many years."
"Well...yes," Ross muttered, a completely unwilling smile fighting it's way through hi dimples and to his lips. "But that does NOT change the fact that I was unhappy with you, cretin! See to it that you behave yourself in the future."
"Right," came the dry response, but a weight seemed to have lifted off of Math's shoulders. "Top of the stairs, Ross. Don't wear him out with your energy."
His elegant visitor snorted, floating up the stairs and knocking softly before peering into the room. "Gamma...? It's Ross, are you up to another visitor?"
--
Gamma was sitting up, drinking another cup of tea with his two 'brothers'. Sigma was still draped lazily across the far arm chair, and Omi was up on his feet moving around as they chatted. Gamma glanced up at the voice at the door, recognizing Epsilon's Guardian.
"Certainly, Rossaspina-" Gamma's voice was happy, a little soft since he was getting used to speaking all the time still. "Please come in."
Sigma mumbled something to Omi, shifting in the chair so he could watch the doorway.
--
"Don't be so blasted paranoid, Sig," Omi muttered, flicking at his hair disdainfully. "It's not Epsi, it could be worse."
Ross stepped into the room, strangely graceful and ethereal as he looked down at his master's brother. Something about him was, just for a moment, as intimidating as he was supposed to be- and then he dove for the bed with a screech of glee, hugging Gamma tight with a breathless laugh.
"Master Gamma, we MISSED you! Epsi has fretted about you SO much, you really should never have worried us so!" crying
Shaking his head, Math skittered out of the room to evade the gushing and find more teacups.
--
Sig snorted, letting a ring of smoke escape his lips in reply. Gamma's eyebrows lifted slightly as Ross stepped in, his expression quickly changing as the guardian dove for his bed and seized him in an embrace.
"Er... haha.." Gamma's glasses slid askew as he tried to pat the over-excited guardian. "It's good to see you agian as well, Rossaspina! Speaking of Epsilon.. where is he at?" Gamma glanced over Ross, to the door that was empty. "Is he not with you?"
--
"Epsi's never with me long," Ross sniffed, sitting back to adjust his sleeves with dignity before gently resettling Gamma's glasses on his nose. Slightly flushed (as usual), he tucked a strand of hair behind one delicately pointed ear and commandeered a chair next to the bed. "He'll be along soon enough, I made sure he got Omicron's message." He spared a nod for the other two present, absently. "You are looking far better than I last saw you. Are you recovering well, or should we take a stronger interest?"
--
"I'm recovering just fine.. with the attentions of all my brothers and Mathonwy." Gamma smiled warmly, hands folding over his stomach. "I have glasses, so I can see. I have tea.. and plenty of meals- I'm doing well."
Sigma yawned, shifting again so that he was laying back across the chair fully, arm resting over his eyes to shield the light as he dozed. "So, you have no idea where Epsilon is?" He muttered something like, 'what's the use of guardians, if they can't keep up with what they're guarding...'.
Gamma ignored Sigma, tilting his head to Ross. "So, what have you been up to all this time?"
--
Never one to put up with anyone's nonsense- even Sigma's- Ross turned to the man with one coolly raised eyebrow and frowned. His face lost all of its bright enthusiasm, shutting down to glare coldly at the Magi. "If you actually had a Guardian, Sigma, then you would understand how much sheer work it is to keep up with any one of you," he stated firmly, much like someone reprimanding a small child. "Since you have been so stubborn, however, I don't believe you are in any position to complain."
He turned back to Gamma after giving the same half-dare look to a silently amused Omicron, and smiled again. "Epsi is off finishing one of his projects. I've been working on some lovely theories in astral molecular physics, correlating the data to the science of magic. It's terribly fascinating."
--
Sigma smirked, eyes flicking to Omi, then returning closed as he lounged. "I'd love to see how much work you can do to keep me up, Rossaspina." He murmured, butchering the Guardian's previous statement towards him and tossing it back.
"Sigma.." Gamma frowned, looking back to Ross. "Theories, hmm? That does sound intriguing.. all magic? Or do you have studies from particular branches of it?"
--
Disdainful, as always, of Sigma's childishness, Ross grinned at Gamma and leaned back in his chair. "Oh, we finished the initial study years ago. All I currently work on is the individual branches- we've made some amazing magical discoveries by simply comparing the different fields. It's a shame the Mage Academy is gone, I'd love to have shown them some of our research. Time has been on hold, of course- I look forward to battering you with questions!"
Omi snorted tea at Sigma's comment, coughing a bit and cackling at his brother. "I think I'd pay to see that myself," he murmured to Sigma once he could breathe again, wiping his eyes.
--
"Anytime," Gamma replied, taking up his cup of tea and drinking the remains of the mug down. "Do you have all of this written down where I could read it?"
Sigma kicked his feet back over the front of the chair, sitting up and dusting his coat out a bit. "I think I'm going to take a little walk." He gave Omi a wink, then dissaeapred out the door.

"Our previous projects have been priovately published; I'll see that you get a copy. Usually, I would send a copy to Manen as well...but you will have to give me your opinion on that subject." Ross looked away for a moment, unhappy with that situation, and sighed. "I will be thankful to have this situation at least slightly clear."
Omicron snorted, shaking his coat more firmly onto his shoulders before following Sigma. Hell if he wanted to stay for the literary crap.

"I haven't seen Manen since I've returned." Gamma shook his head a little, watching Ross carefully. "You can send him whatever you wish, I see no reason against it."
--
Epsi made his way down the sidewalk, towards Math's place. He was dressed in casual jeans and a loose fitting t-shirt with the slogan, 'save the trees'. His shoulder length brown hair was pushed back from his face by a green bandana around his head, a pair of gardeners gloves tucked into his pocket. His pants were spotted with various little spots of green, and bits of grass peppered his appearance. He paused at the corner of the street, glancing at the little piece of dirt schmered paper in his hand.
"... should be around here." He glanced up, one eyebrow lifted.

"You are his master," Ross said softly, sadness touching his soft green eyes. "It is your decision how to deal with his crime- regardless of his intention or how fate has hung him, Master Gamma, he still ripped you away from us. I am afraid I will have a difficult time trusting him, now."
A breath later, however, the man blinked and moved towards the window. He was suddenly focused, like a compass needle pointing towards North. "Epsilon is here. I may need to go get him, sometimes things like houses aren't very recognizable to him." xd ;;

"I know. I will face him soon enough." Gamma sighed, closing his eyes and resting his head back. "Ah, go ahead and fetch Epsilon- I have no doubts he would continue wandering until he found a park to get lost in." Gamma chuckled, shaking his head.

Smothering a laugh that was very close to a giggle, Rossaspina flitted out of the room and down the stairs, throwing the front door open breathlessly and grinning as his master passed the sidewalk. "MASTER! Epsssiiiii you're leaving us behind!"

Epsi swung around, looking about before spotting his guardian.
"Oh! Ross.. there you are. I've been looking all over for you. This place is so.. " He made a little face, stuffing the piece of paper into his pocket. "It's hard to hear things here.. with the lack of trees." Sighing sadly, he wandered over to Ross and managed a smile. "So, this is Mathonwy's place? It's lovely." ^___^ "Where's his garden? No plants? Are there any inside???"

"He has an enormous herb garden with some lovely ancient trees in the back," Ross assured him with a hug, rubbing noses. "You'll have no trouble finding it in the future. Come on- Master Gamma is awake and alert, and has been asking about you~"

"I'm not very presentable.. but I came as soon as I got the message." Epsi shook his head, tugging the bandana from his brown hair and running a hand through the messy strands. "How is he, really? You say awake and alert...but is he recovering from everything alright?"

"As far as I can tell, yes," Ross affired, taking his hand and pulling him towards the house. "You'll have to see him yourself. He's still weak, but he's smiling- isn't that what makes the difference?"
He tugged at his master's hair with a lopsided smile, sighing slightly. "Math is here, of course. I'm...having trouble facing him, still."

"Why?" Epsi blinked, tying the bandana around his wrist. "Gamma is alive. That's all that matters. Why waste time brooding on the past and events that you can't change." He walked into the hallway, eyebrows raised. "Mathonwy! Come here!"

Cringing slightly, Math stepped out of the kitchen and set aside the tray he had been carrying. The neatly placed sandwiches and teacakes on it were desperately more interesting than stepping out into that hallway...he hadn't LIKED Omicron or Sigma overmuch on a pesonal basis. Epsilon...was family, like Rossaspina.
"Welcome, Master Epsilon," he said softly, facing him with hands clasped behind his back to hide his tension. "Gamma is resting upstairs, I'm sure you'll want to see him."
Amused, Ross stepped out of the way and perched himself on the stair rail to watch.

Epsi snorted, flicking his hands in a gesture for Math to come over to him and give him a hug. "Get over here, you. I haven't seen you in as long as I haven't seen Gamma. I've missed you too."
He lifted an eyebrow, grinning a little. "And.. I do apoligize for getting dirt on the floor." o__o ;;
