Is getting into another relationship after you just had a break up with someone 5 days ago too soon?

Well, that's entirely dependant on several things. First, even though it really shouldn't play a part, your age. Secondly, how long you two dated. Third, how close you were. Fourth, the reason for the break up. And lastly, why exactly the opinions of others affects your actions. ^^;
Mainly though, its about your own moral code. If you don't have a set code you follow, or nothing that specifically prohibits you from doing that, its fine. Something that quick is generally looked down upon, but only if the relationship lasted a long time or if someone is constantly jumping from person to person as quickly as possible.

As Kindyetcruel mentioned, there are a lot of factors to think about. Though on a personal opinion level, yeah I think that is a bit quick. My reason for thinking this is as follows:
If...
It was a long/deep/involved relationship, there are likely hurt feelings on one or both sides. Jumping into something new before those are resolved can cause problems. Rebound relationships easily spawn from getting re-involved too quickly and while they can turn out wonderfully, they are often based on a simple 'filler' partner for the one you broke up with.
It was a short/laid back/shallow/fling relationship that didn't work out. the above mentioned issues probably aren't present or at least so severe. However, it can really make you look bad if this is a pattern. Relationship hopper? It can also look bad if people start thinking you were 2 timing while dating that person. Ouch.
Then there is WHY you broke up. Giving a fair distance between relationships ensures that your Ex won't try to make your new beau miserable or screw things up for you. It's sad, it's wrong, but IT HAPPENS and it really really sucks.
In the end it is all up to you. Just giving you a few thoughts to chew on. =) Good luck!

Personally, I don't subscribe to any of those "times before..." customs with dating. Waiting three days before calling someone, or waiting so long before going out with someone new is ridiculous.
You should move at a pace that feels right for you. If you are sure that you are ready for a relationship with this individual, and are sure that it will be a positive relationship, go ahead.
Oh, and good luck with this. ^-^
