Laputa's music was really good, but spirited away's was my favorite. >< i have most of the songs from it.

Joe Hisaishi does well.

Joe Hisaishi does indeed do a WONDERFUL job. Love him! heart
The music in Whisper of the Heart is my favorite. But Howl's Moving Castle and Totoro were really good.
So was Castle in the Sky. o_o

I absolutely LOVE Spirited Away's music. I wasn't that fond of My Neighbor Totoro's, but I really liked Kiki's Delivery Service's main theme, "On A Clear Day".

I really loved Spirited Away music, and I really like Joe Hisaishi and his musical talent. I don't know if he's the John Williams of Japan though.
But still, his music is awesome!

My absolute favorite would have to be the theme from Nausicaa( I've started to write a version for piano bcs I like it so much). I also enjoy listening to the music from Kiki's Delivvery service and Spirited Away. Also, The ever adorable "Mr Raccoon " song from Pom poco is one of my other faves. I'd like to learn it in Japanese just for the novelty.

I would like to label him as the John Williams of Japan... his music is so uplifting.
I think he's popular in korea as well. He composed music for the korean film "Welcome to Dongmakgol" as well as the korean drama "Tae Wang Sa shingi", starring Bae Yong Jun.
I can't choose between his work; they're all very good.
