The book I had, there was the original Italian version on one page, and the English translation facing it.
Frankly, I adored this epic verse. The only thing I'm sorry about is that I haven't read the other two books that could go with it.

I have been wanting to read that for forever! You can find the other verses online if you are willing to look for it. Google it. I did a report on Italy and I needed a poet so I chose Dante. I came across that poem/sory (I'm not sure what to call it). I have read the fisr bit but nothing more. And I read it in spanish, english and italian. I like languages.

I don't understand one bit of Italian, but I agree with you. Somehow...it just sounds really well written if you compare or try to read it out loud.

hehe. I can only read italian because it is so much like spanish. But I like to read things in their original language. They sound how they were ment to. I'll have to try to read it out loud.

It's fun, even if you mangle up have the words ^^ hehe. Can't go wrong with a story about a journey through hell.
