The Kingdom Keeper Captain

This is about two normal teenage boys and one's sister who find a mysterious cave of myth, rumor, and legend that leads to the time of the ancient Nephites! In order to get back to their time they must escape Lamanites, avoid the King men, and join in the battle to save Zarahemla from the evil nephite dissenter Amalakiah!
This is just the first book! The second takes place in the modern world when they're in college, the 3rd and 4th, a two part with their kids. 5,6, and 7 ar with the kids a little older, and 8 the last one I've read is the beginning to another set a few years later.

Oh wow, this has got to be one of my most favorite book series ever. And now I can blather about it like an idiot!
Let's see, I think I read the first one shortly after we moved into my best friend's ward. (I hope she joins this guild.) Following that, I read all of the books that were out then. Then I sort of forgot about them as life got in the way.
Fast forward to YW Camp a few years ago!!
*insert fancy film editing here*
We were at the lake, and I was bored-er than bored. Previously-mentioned bestest friend had conveniently brought another book in the series (I forget the name...but it's the one about the Tower of Babel and the City of Enoch). So I got to read it! Yay! And okay...yeah...I cried. Books don't normally make me do that. xD
So that's my story!

I can;t stand those books. I listened to one on tape and they went back to places in the bible. It was pretty violent and graphic, they also had a fake Christ in it. I just did not like it at all.

A fake... Christ? When did that happen? Oh! You started on the wrong book... That's probably the only one like that. You're talking about the canyon full of the dead right? Where the Roman soldiers dumped the bodies near Jericho? Yeah, probably not a good one to start with... try the 1st one. Will you do that for me Vinny?

I've never read any of them, but my school is crazy about 'em. Maybe I should read some... What's the order, because apparently, I will get confused if I start at the wrong place?

Well, the first one is Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites. I'm not sure about the order after that, but I think they have the numbers printed on the sides...
(Okay, that didn't help much.)
The first one is still my absolute favorite, though.

I'm not really sure which book it was KK. I should start with the first one, but I rather not, knowing where the author is headed. It just rubbed me the wrong way. razz I guess I am picky about books.

Other than that novel, there is a book called Book of Mormon sleuth and it is as readable as Tennis shoes among the Nephites. (sorry mom only let me listen to that one)

@ Babs: Ok here's the order as far as I've read.
1. Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites 2. Gadiantons and the Silver Sword 3. The Feathered Serpent I* 4. The Feathered Serpent II* 5. The Sacred Quest** 6. The Lost Scrolls** 7. The Golden Crown 8. Warriors of Cumorah 9. Haven't read 10. likewise
*These are about Christ appearing to the Nephites, they're my fav's **These Are the Most graphic cuz they talk about how the romans treated the jews, and the wars, and the gladiators. they're Chris's lowest moment, from they're it goes back to the level of book 2.
@ Vinny: You probly read 5 or 6 and yeah those are his worst and I can see why it rubbed you the wrong way. Just try the first one it's on a completely different level.

Another really good Mormon book is House on the Hill. We got in in Utah a couple of years ago at general conference. You should read it. 3nodding
