well, earlier yesterday i saw on cnn news that the earth is going into a warming trend.

well, meny people say it is the pollutents that are put into the air and water by the rich and no doubt powerful companies. i believe that this is natural and is normal, as the enviroment never stays the same and the temperature always veries.

i also believe that if we do clean up the act of the companies and force our government to do something that it will not cause a thing to happen.

well in any case the eviromental and economical impact will be great in meny countries.

what is your take on the situation?

by the way: i know this has nothing to do with home schooling. but, i thought we could all use a break.

Adults need to wake up and realize that what their going to pass on to their children is a diseased, broken earth. I'm sure if they realized this, no one would have the incentive to continue harmful activities on our planet. People are supposed to love their kids, aren't they? In canada, we were supposed to start our kyoto accord work, but the goverment keeps putting it off. The general public has to start doing things on our own, instead of waiting for the leaders to finally begin.

the problem in united states is, we have a form of government that is not looking past its pocket books and holds all the power. if the average person in the united states always sides with the people who do that then there will be no change. but, i am hoping that this time around the 58% that was overwhilmingly stupid last time will ahve gotten their heads straightened out.

I'm aware of that. we live in capitalist societies. That's why I said people need to wake up and take a look at things outside of themselves and money.

Global warming is a problem, but one must not and shouldn't blame a type of government. That is called 'scape-goating' in order for us to fight this global warming, all of us need to wake up. One we need to blame ourselves, and two we need to fix up our own actions before the actions of others.

How can we fix someone else if we ourselves need the mending? So before we go blaming the Capitalists or Bush or who ever oyu like to 'scape-goat' you need to look at yourself. You need to fix up your actions.

Yes, warming is a danger to our world, and as a Christian I must say have a responsiblity for the world. It is not world to destroy, so I have no right in dumping garbage into the sea.

the united states has a really bad image in europe these days when it comes to destroying the ozone..this year was the first time the usa delegation took the world environment summit seriuosly
it seems to me that nature has really targeted the states with hurricanes perfectly placed to wipe out oil refineries.the usa may be a super power but it will never control nature!!perhaps now environmental problems will remain an important part of the political agenda but at what cost!
