'Kay, first of all, background:
A dog I'd had since I was 6 years old passed away almost a year ago, and though I feel I've come to the stage of acceptance, I still miss her and wish there was some way to see her or have some kind of contact with her or to at least say goodbye (she died while I was on summer vacation out of state, never got the chance to).
Problem is, I was living in a different state than I am now at the time, which is where she died. At this very moment, I am on summer vacation out of state again (out of the state I am currently living. @_@).
Holy s**t, that's confusing. But, there's more. xd
Where I'm vacationing right now is my hometown before all the moves, and, though she was never in the house I'm currently in at this moment, we were in the house just down the street (very short walking distance) for most of my childhood.
After that wall of text, on to the point (Finally xd ) :
You guys here sound like you know more than me. Is there some possible way to experience some contact of any kind, be it brief or habitual, with my deceased pet? Based on my knowledge, to even have a chance, if this crazy s**t can even work, I'd have to go to the now abandoned house I mentioned earlier where we all resided for most of my childhood.
Help. @___@

Really, it isn't necessary for you to go sneaking into abandon buildings.
Many people believe that their pets become guardian spirits (think furry guardian angels) after they pass on.
This may take a few tries, but it's something you could do anywhere.
Find a quite place where you are unlikely to be disturbed. Find a comfortable seat, and take several deep, relaxing breaths to center yourself.
Focus on your pet. Imagine her there with you. Think about all of the affection you still hold for her, and "send" that to her.
As I said, this may take a few tries.
When my first dog died, I was very upset. I was the one who discovered that she was sick, but when she needed to be put down, my parents took her at night when I was already asleep (granted, it was an emergency, but I wish they would have woken me up).
For months afterwards, when I was feeling lonely or upset, I could feel fur in my fingertips, as though she was right there beside me, asking for an ear rub. I know that she is still with my family today, going back and forth between my dad and I (She was there when I was born, so I was always her "puppy", but she was really my dad's dog).
