A terrible storm wraked Mysteel's cliffs. It was the wet season, sometime in late September. Seiaeka had been dispatched by her government to assist with the fortifcations in Cladandra. It was there she was told of a shipwreak just off the cliffs to the east. Taking a party along the tunnels in the cliff face they found a large ship smashed against the rocks, the bodies floating in the water.
Pulling out a small trinkit from her bag, the young woman held it up infront of her. A faint red glow encompassed the items and down below in the sea against the rocks a similar light, weak in nature, shone up at her. The crew immidaitely rushed down ther, pulling the boy from the water and carrying him away back to town. They would come back later to salvage the ship and bury the dead, but right now it was too dangrous.
Back in Clandanda, Seiaeka sat next too the boy's bed, the local inn having been turned into a makeshift hospital for the residents. She leaned over him pressing a spoonful soft warm porridge to his lips, making him eat a little.

The boy spat coughing on the warm porridge. Sitting up he looked around frightened. His eyes dashing from person to person his memory took them in. Where was he? His eyes blurred a bit as his head ached from the accident before. Something had happened but he couldn't remember. "Mother.." he whispered looking around. No women here fit his mothers description. Feeling his chest he looked at the bandages on them. "What happened?" he asked himself not knowing of Seiaeka's presence.

Seiaeka leaned back, not surprised at all when the boy woke up. "You are in Cladandra, the port city of Mysteel." she said, her face and features hidden by her heavy green cloak and hood. "You were the only survivor of a shipwreak." she continued, holding out another spoonful of porridge to him.

Stunned the boy turned to Seiaeka and flinged his hand knocking away the spoon. Watching it crash on the floor he stood up and ran away. Now he was in trauma. His mother was missing and he was just told by a stranger he was the only one that survived. Running down the street tears streamed down his face. As he skidded to a stop be slid into an alley and started crying. Where was he? Where was his mom? Was he alive like the lady said? The last thing he remembered was cracks in his chest and the splitting of wood before everything went dark.

She smiled to herself, the boy was taking it well. Rising from her seat, she left someone else to clean up the mess he'd made and followed him slowly down the street, taking a new cloak with her. The rain seemed to not penetrate the faberic of the garment as she strode out into the pouring rain.
Easily tracking the boy to the alley, she crouched down infront of him, her white bangs tumbling out of the hood into the rain, her features still masked. "My apologies for seeming cold, young man, but I cannot allow you to wander the streets of the cities. It's against the laws here." she said, wrapping the cloak around him gently and slowly as to not frighten him. She pulled him into a gentle hug as she picked up up to return to the inn.

The boy looked up, he was frightened. Slowly as her warmth touched the coldness of his body he sighed giving up the struggle. She was so much like his mother. She never did seem to get mad. Looking up as her face he smiled and watched as they re-entered the inn. Why couldn't you roam the streets anyway...?

Bringing him back into his room, she took his claok and hung it from the back of the door as she put him down. Striding into the bathroom she retrieved a towel and and came back to dry his hair off. "There's a change of clothes for you in the bathroom, you should go change. I'll get you some good hot food, so you just wait in here. Ok?" she said, standing and striding out of the room with her cloak still on, leaving him with the towel.

"O..Okay," said the boy walking into the bathroom. Stripping off his clothes he grabbed the ones sitting on the toilet and put them on. They were the perfect size somehow. Messing back up his hair the way he liked it he left the room and sat back on the bed humming slightly with a frown on his face. So this was some sort of city, the lady that just left seemed nice but she also seemed mean, who was she?

She returned with a tray of hot stew and a dinner roll, enough for two, and placed it on the table. "You should eat." she said softly to him, "I will stay with you since you are my charge." she said, taking the seat across from his and pulling her stew over to her and beginning to eat.

Watching the lady he smiled and took a bite of the stew. "Who are you?" he asked pulling the spoon away from his mouth and sticking it back into the warm stew. It sounded like it was raining but he could just be delusional. He remembered now why he was with his mom, he was coming back from the school he was attending... or had been attending.

"My name cannot be told to anyone from Outlands." she said, her tone still soft and soothing. "Instead, why not tell me about yourself?" the sound of a smile coming to her voice as she spoke through her hood, the spoon occasionally diappearing into its darkness as she ate.

"I know nothing of myself except my age," said the boy bowing his head. He was ashamed that he knew nothing of his own self. What was he to say. He had forgotten his name, all he knew is his mother was dead and he was only five years old. Holding up 5 fingers he sighed before pushing the half empty bowl of stew away.

She felt sorry for the boy, but not so much of simpathy as it was empathy. Finisheing her stew she watched him push his away, "Are you not going to finish?" she asked, "I suggest you do, you need your strength, as you will be leaving shortly." she informed him.

The boy looked up "What? Where am I going?" The expression on his face showed what all he was thinking, he was wondering where he could go. He was all along now after all. Reaching up he laid his hand to his chest and looked to the lady "Where?" he asked.

"We will be taking you back to the Outlands." she said, shrugging a little, "You need not worry though, my government will take excellent care of you and make sure you are placed in a good home with loving people." she said, that soft reassuring tone back in her voice, "I'm sure they will also send you any belongings of yours that we salvage from the ship." she stood up from her seat. "Please accompany me to the docks." she requested, pulling his cloak down from the back of the door.
