Do you think that they'll eventualy pull there finger out and make it? I hope they do because I've been waiting for it for ages. However will they keep the same actors for the same parts? Ian Mckellen needs to be Gandalf but will they keep Ian Holm as Bilbo?
Hope no one minds me starting a new thread. Just something i've been thinking about.

Here, I made a thread on Leaf with all the movie information I gathered. http://www.leafoflorien.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=movie&action=display&thread=1181927219&page=1I would LOVE to see Ian McKellen, and Hugo Weaving, and Andy Serkis. I have no clue about them though, but I don't think we will be seeing Ian Holm as Bilbo, which is sad because he did an amazing job. But for the prolouge of the movies they had to put makeup an such on him to make him look younger for the Gollum's cave scene and he could barely stand that, I don't think he could go through a whole movie in it.

As long as the actors do a their jobs to perfection I have no complaints just as long as the scriptwriters don't muddle the story up like in LotR whee

From what I hear, the movie is finnished, but because the director got greedy the company filming it shelved it till they sort out all the legal stuff.

I hope that WETA does all the art and design work. With LotR, they did their job quite well, and if someone else does the Hobbit, it just won't fit together.

They probably won't have Ian Holm as Bilbo again, as Bilbo is much younger in The Hobbit 3nodding
But if they do not keep the other characters the same (Serkis as Gollum, McKlellan as Gandalf) I'll be very upset >:[

Tirithiel They probably won't have Ian Holm as Bilbo again, as Bilbo is much younger in The Hobbit 3nodding But if they do not keep the other characters the same (Serkis as Gollum, McKlellan as Gandalf) I'll be very upset >:[ but biblo stopped aging once he gained possession of the ring... so in theory (if 10 years had not passed since they filmed lotr!) they would be able to have ian holm as biblo in the hobbit....

I agree with that; besides, didn't he play Bilbo in the beginning of the Fellowship when he first found the Ring?

iRusco I agree with that; besides, didn't he play Bilbo in the beginning of the Fellowship when he first found the Ring? yes he did... i think it would have been really cool if they had included a portion of bilbo's story during the council of elrond in the form of a flashback... it would have been really good material for the hobbit film to have grown from 3nodding
