((Forgive me for not posting this in the percussion forum.
I figured it would not be discovered, and if that's confuzzling,
go look at their forum. x_x It's a mess.
I have a separate forum for it, but I trust the
band geeks to respond more than other gaians.))

Hiya! sweatdrop

I'm hoping pretty hard here that I don't sound like a leech,
but I'm quickly running out of options.

I'm dying to express myself in the best way I've found.

I want to be more than a drummer, I want to be a percussionist.
I want to know my drums in and out, how to play, tune, and care for them.
I want an instructor who has the same love for a beat that I do.

Allow me to explain my situation; I'm a white girl living in Compton. My single mother and I are struggling for funds at the moment, not even to mention the struggle for hope. I live with my grandparents in their house, which they were so kind to offer to us. Even though my great-grandfather just passed away this past Monday, July 9th, the snobbier of my family members are withholding any inheritance from us, if we were indeed left anything.

I know of an excellent couple of teachers in a pretty local drum shop that give lessons for what is considered a fair price. Unfortunately for me, four-hundred dollars a month is ever so slightly out of my budget. As hard as I'm trying to find a job, I'm not even going to be sixteen until early September this year.

I'm going into my junior year of high school, and I want to play the marching snare for band, seeing as that is usually my only big commitment as far as extracurriculars go.

I know that given the time and determination, I could probably teach myself without too much misery involved. But I want someone there to guide me in case I'm misleading myself.
A book of sheet music can only allude to so much, you know?

So, in other words, forgive how horrible this sounds if you will,
but I need someone to guide me in playing for little to no pay.

I have my own concert snare, stand, and semi-decent sticks,
though they're not really the best for marching snare style.

I tend to consider myself a pretty damn good listener, especially when my heart is really in something.

heart Saving up for a marching snare. Maybe this Christmas!! heart

So, I guess if anyone wants to take on an extremely determined pupil, I'll welcome the help with open arms and mind. I can read music well if I've practiced it or heard the beat itself, but I'm not great at sight-reading. I love music; I love metal, alternative, classical, trance, industrial, broadway, very little country, and of course, big band.

I want your wisdom. And possibly your music. I love being introduced to new stuff. ^_^

I hate myspace, but seeing as it is a way to contact me: myspace.com/fangletkins

Of course, you could just PM me. ^_^

My email is: fang_stryfe@yahoo.com

If you need another way to contact me, I certainly don't know what to give you. Sorry... I really hope this is adequate, I even put my friggin' cell number. xD

S'far as payment for all this goes, I'm not great at much. I can fix your computer, I can speed it up and virus protect it decently. I can give you a really nice firewall, not to mention it's free. I'd also be happy to help boost your gaia gold if you really want. It's technically against the ToS to pay for things outside of gaia with gold, but it's not so much payment as a token of my gratitude.

Contact me and we'll discuss it.

Thanks!! ^_^
