As my subject header states this post will definitely contain spoilers. If you do not wish to be spoiled, or conversely have the movie spoiled for you, do not read!

Since this post is meant for people who have already seen the movie I will not dispense with a synopsis or summary. I will justassume you know wtf I'm talking about razz

The plot: Overall I thought the plot was pretty good for an action movie. However, I still feel the Transformers themselves were left out for the most part. There was almost zero characterization of any of the Transformers outside from Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. Even Megatron was left in the dust. The dialogue was pretty solid through most of the movie. There were, however, some moments where things were kind of out of character. Take for example Josh Duhamel's character (the army captain guy) suggesting taking the 'All Spark' INTO a city, knowing FULL WELL that these were rampaging GIANT ROBOTS they were dealing with. I don't know about you but if I was an army guy I'd see it fit that we take that thing as far away from civilians as possible. Try a desert, or a forest. There was also the thing with Optimus just standing around and letting Bumblebee get taken away like that. I've never known him to ever do that in the comics or the original cartoon.

The music: I thought the music was generally pretty good. No real complaints here.

The acting: The acting was pretty good all around. Nothing really stood out as bad. If anything was bad it was more of a result of bad plot point here or there (like the aforementioned Josh Duhamel character's suggestion).

The Transformer designs: Awful, honestly. I mean, I tried to keep an open mind about all of this before I saw the movie. But, the robot forms really had just way too much going on. It made them really hard to follow and really hard to distinguish during the action sequences. I really wish they would have tried harder to make the robot forms closer to what they were back in the original show. They tried too hard to make the robots 'human', or 'organic' that it became some sort of confused movie amalgam. They would definitely have benefitted more if the robot forms looked a little boxier and a lot simpler here. Plus, they opted to shy away from all the iconic trademarks of the characters, aside from maybe Optimus Prime but even then they failed.

Conclusion: The movie was definitely intended for an audience who never have seen anything Transformers before. Overall, 'true' Transformers fans have the right to feel shafted in this case.

Sequels? Yes, there will be sequels. Michael Bay has not yet been confirmed to be coming back to direct, but Shia LaBoeuf (Sam Witwicky), Megan Fox (the hot chick! ~drools~), and Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) have already signed on for the other movies. I hope that the designs get a revamp, at the very least.

In short it was a good action movie. I didn't feel like I wasted my time or my money. Buuut it definitely could have been done a lot better.

I think I might wait for it to come out on dvd. I still won't read the first post in that case.

I admit it was pretty good for an action movie! But there's still The Simpsons and Bourne Ultimatum I have yet to see!!

I saw that movie with my friends and it was awesome!!!!! I can't wait to buy it on DVD!^^

I'm so glad the Transformers movie is out on DVD today finally!^^ I hope to get it tomorrow if they don't run out! XD
