Well, if we're talking any series than I'd say .hack//Sign. First one I ever saw and has remained a favorite ever since.

Psshh, I'll give credit to the manga. That one was good although the ending was a bit disappointing. But the anime was episode after episode of "Rena!!" "Shugo!!" "Rena!!" "Shugo!!" over and over. XP

I like .hack//Legend of the Twilight and .hack//Roots.They are teh awesome.I have all of .hack//Sign but I havent watched all of it crying I really need to sweatdrop .

its explains most of the stuff you dont get about .hack//sign and Liminality

Afraio if we are talkin series, i am going to go with .Hack//AI Buster its explains most of the stuff you dont get about .hack//sign and Liminality I didn't get all of the significance of Liminality either until I read the novelizations of the first four games. It explained much better what was happening outside of The World than I think Liminality did.
