The Story of Luna
There is no one in this world or the next who can actually remember Luna's real name.
Like all people who become something great, Luna started out as a normal nineteen year old girl. The spunky, raven-haired teen lived on a small island deep in the tropics. She had the same brown eyes and dark skin as all the other villagers on the quiet island.
It was an ancient ritual performed that night that was to change Luna's life forever. As tribal drums thumped their musical beat, Luna, along with the other village girls, danced around the blazing fire. Luna tried hard to shrug off the piercing stare of the old woman who had only washed up on the island that day, but the woman's eyes gave Luna a sick feeling deep in her stomach.
Moonlight poored over the villagers as the harvest celebration continued. In the bright light of the moon, Luna's vision began to blur. The flames seemed to become more and more dim, and the drum beats began to sound farther and farther away.

When luna awoke, she found herself alone on the dark beach. To her surprise, her simple village garb had been replaced by an elaborate black and blue gown. Much to her dismay, her raven hair she had become so proud of had become blue!!!
"Luna"
Luna looked all around her, but could find no one.
"Luna" the voice called again.
Luna's gaze fell to the Lunar Septer standing proudly in the sand.
"Take the Septer" called the voice, "It is your destiny." Luna felt her heart pounding in her chest. She reached for the septer then stopped herself. "Luna." she said. "That's not my name. It's.....she thought long and hard. My name.....I can not remember my name!"
"You are not that girl anymore." the septer seemed to glow as the words pulsed from it.
"Then what am I?" asked Luna.
"Something More....Now take hold of me."
With a trembling hand, Luna took the septer, and its light poured all over her. The light grew intense as it flowed into the sky, revealing a path to the heavens.
Luna looked at the septer and to the sky, then to the sleeping village somewhere behind her. "Not that girl anymore?" she asked herself. Engluffed by fear, Luna swallowed hard, closed her eyes, then climbed the moonlit path into the sky.
