In case some of you don't know, abortion is an operation [or other intervention] to end pregnancy by removing an embryo or fetus from the womb. In a sense, it's like a miscarriage.
The huge debate is whether or not it's right.
Doctors think that it's fine because at the stage that the embryo/fetus is removed, it has not yet developed a heart, and therefore it is not living.
Others say it will always be wrong because we are educated enough to know that it will eventually develop a heartbeat, become living, and in that sense it has feelings, and rights, and the like.
What is your opinion?

The biggest thing I could probably add to this is that women are arguing that they're not being given control over their own body, that they're being forced to make a decision that they're possibly not ready to accept. Sometimes it was a mistake, sometimes they just weren't ready, and sometimes they ran into trouble or debt, but whatever the case, and no matter how good the reason, they're being told that they have to make another child for the government to potentially exploit in the future (no intent to offend anyone).
I believe it's right for many reasons, including the very purpose stated: that women should have the right to their own body, not the government.

I believe that women have every right to recieve the operation of abortion. I think it's their rights as Americans to do as they wish. A little less then half of the pregnancies in the world are unplanned/unwanted. Abortion is a right.
On the other hand, I do support abortion, but only if it's used when necessary. If females decide it's just easier to get an abortion than take birth control pills, then they are completely abusing their right.

I am neutral, I belive the mother has a right but so does the fetus. I am a very spiritual person so I may sound like a mad-(wo)man.
Trees have spirits, well thats what everyone used to believe, I still do. So if a tree that does not have a heart beat, has a spirit, is it living? Yes, science has proved plants are living things yet they do not have a heart beat. Fetuses do not either, but they still function as a living being. Therefore, they have a spirit and basic pain receptacles.
Now, a mother in dire need of abortion is understandable. Why would you let your own child suffer? But most women are pressured and do not want children, but will not use protection. These "women" should be removed from the face of the planet, as to preserve the rest of our generations from their stupidity.
Sorry the end is a little off topic. And yes I am a science nerd and a spiritual person, I can have the best of both worlds!

I dont think that abortions are the right thing. There are so many ways to not get pregnant-birth control pills, condoms, not having sex in the first place etc. If a woman does wind up getting pregnant, its probably her fault. She has no right to end a life just because its not coveniant for her and if the child simply cannot be raised well by the mother there is always adoption. The only exception is rape. If a woman were to get raped and empregnated (sp?) then abortion would be acceptable.

Well, condoms are the safest form of sex, but not completely safe.
Either way, I still stand by my opinion that women who wanted to have a baby but found they honestly weren't prepared when they got pregnant still deserve an abortion. (Oregon is like the Rebel State (which is what it should be renamed to as its official title, not this Beaver State crap): we go against a lot of the things that other states believe in, such as a sales tax, and no abortion. We're awesome like that).

Anyways.
I think it is wrong, in some cases.
Some women get abortions when they are enough far along that it does have a heartbeat. It's very sad to say. I think that if they baby was not intended && you're not prepared enough for a child, you should give it up for adoption, then it will still have alife to live. Actually...I don't know much about adoption, do you have to pay to give your child up? Actually...if you have money to get an abortion you have enough to put it up for adoption. Even if you were to get raped its still half yours even if you didn't want the child.
So...yeah. That didn't make much sense but...thats what I think.

I believe that women have the right to make their own choices with their body. However...I also believe that before they make that choice they need to study abortion a little. They need to check out exactly what will be done. Some of that s**t is really ******** up!
If I were to agree with anyone in this thread right now it would be Until the end of time.

My stance is neutral,only because this topic is such a grey topic.My main problem is that, no matter what, you ARE ending a life when you have an abortion.
