yay! I love photography (but at the same time, it feels like I'm cheating at art) please ignore my really nasty thumb nail... (ps: I hope no one gets too creeped out by insects, I think they're fascinating)

Oh and by the way, photography is not "cheating". It is a legitimate art form. You can easily tell the difference between a good photographer and a bad photographer. For example, artists like zarzibar, gokuyert, and kartxila have some immense skill in photography, whereas whoever took these pictures doesn't. You can't just pick up a camera and be good at it. It takes a true artist's eye to perfect the lighting, focus, angle, colors, and intensity and get a beautiful photograph.

It took me a while to get it to focus right anyway...but I guess I'm just used to putting in every excruciating detail in by hand.

Calopterynx, you should catch him and keep him as a pet. Give him lots of snacks! Frog snacks, if you will...

lol, I actually did keep him for a while (frogs are sooooo cute), but I didn't have a proper cage (I kept him in a big plastic ice cream bucket with holes in the lid for a while, but I couldn't see him through it so that kind of ruins the fun of having a pet frog) So I let him go. I've actually had lots of pet frogs, a couple I raised from tadpoles too ^^ ... But now I pretty much only have time for school (just started college classes this year)...which really sucks...

Oh, by the way "Calopterynx" is part of the scientific name for damsel flies (which are like a small version of dragon flies) ... yeah, I'm a nerd redface

How do you keep the dragonfly from biting you?

um... i've never been bitten by one before... I'm holding him at the thorax, and even though he can swivel his head around, he can't reach backwards to bite me... in fact, the thorax is a great place to hold almost any insect if you don't want to get bit (i still wouldn't suggest it with bees though lol)
