In honor of the old Thanksgiving tradition of going around the dinner table and each person saying what they are thankful and grateful for in this world, this thread is made.
Please be clean and civil 3nodding .
I am thankful for amazing food and really great, fun friends whom I can have a good laugh with. I am grateful to be able to have a nice shower every night and a fridge full of food. I am also glad I live in a safe neighborhood where I can sleep easy at night. Also, I will always be thankful for 24 hour grocery stores and restaurants where I can get what I am craving, whether it be pudding, mashed potatoes or pancakes. whee

Happy Thanksgiving everyone ^.^
I have never done anything like this. I don't really have many traditions anymore. We're not even having a Thanksgiving dinner today. That's alright though. I guess I'm thankful for the fact that I'm passing school. For having my own room and bed finally for the first time in my life since I was 3. I'm thankful for not having to have switched living with family members so far in 2 years. I'm thankful for the fact that since I had to move again for the 4th time since high school that it was at least to a place where I know people and can still see Jason heart . I'm thankful for having a mother who never actually 'yells'. For having my own computers and internet since it's most of my life and allows me to keep in touch with all of my old friends. I'm thankful for my kittens and the fact that we were able to keep them alive this long 3nodding . We're not usually very good at that. I'm thankful I have a job and have money now for things I want and not just need. I'm thankful that my old friends are alive and well. I'm thankful my neice survived her heart surgery. I'm thankful that my father's always there to help out my older sister and two neices. I'm thankful my cousin Tyler is still alive even if he is in the hospital from not taking his CF medicine. I'm thankful that the people I care about are diong alright and are happy. I'm thankful for everything good in my life, and I'm thankful to be a part of a guild or a group of people that actually talk to me and not make me feel like I'm odd because of my interests. And of course I'm thankful that Jason has put up with me for this long. I know I'm a weird person sweatdrop . Thank you Jason biggrin heart And thank you to anyone that talks to me. ^_^ makes me feel happy. whee

I despise Thanksgiving. I am a member of the Cree Native American tribe and I see it as the equivalent of celebrating the Holocaust - we are reemembering the day of the commencement of the European domination of the Native American with pomp and circumstance.
My own mother (Who is more Cree than I am) has a centrepiece in the middle of the table with a Native American and a Pilgrim-type shaking hands. Every time I see it I think, "Well, thanks for the food, Red Bear, but don't mind the GIANT COLLECTIVE KNIFE sticking out of the back of your people."
I refuse to take part in any type of "Thanksgiving Dinner" crap. I'm ordering myself a pizza. ___________________________________________________________
Regardless, I am thankful that the American government has not totally exterminated my people. I am thankful that electromagnetic fields that permeate our atmosphere have not yet killed me. I am thankful for the relentless tide of Human Rights that is sweeping across Europe. I am thankful our planet has not been skewered by an asteroid. I am thankful to continue living.
I am thankful for Ashly, whom I never have to put up with. heart

here go to this link: http://encarta.msn.com/column_thanksgivingmyths/The_Pilgrims_watched_football_(and_other_Thanksgiving_myths).html?GT1=5809
it tells how thanksgiving isn't all about the indians and americans and some aren't about them at all. ^.^ it's just a day set aside to be thankful for what you have. you can hate america and still have a thanksgiving ^_^

Much like Columbus Day. But I have the Ashly so it really doesn't matter in the end. whee

Wow... umm not much of a problem here with anyone... I should probably dislike the Japanese.... but I honestly don't care. BTW if no one seems to know I am Korean and if you know our history you also know the Japs were rather brutal with our people. The Soviets aren't any better though... and the Chinese too. Wow.... everyone around Korea screwed my people over... strangely enough... I don't care. Maybe I need a reality check I'm starting to freak out at my lack of feelings towards some subjects. ANYWAYS...
I'm thankful for God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost for they watch over me and give me something strive towards. I'm thankful for my parents and my sister because I'm not alone in the world when I'm with them. I'm thankful for those who put up with me. Yeah I'm annoying and whiney... I really wish I wasn't but I lack the discipline for it. I'm also thankful that dispite all the troubles that fill this country... that I am able to be who I want and to be able to earn what I want. We may be more overexcessive in our consumption of food and energy compared to everyone else but at least we're not lacking.

I am thankful for God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit for keeping my entire family safe in these troubled times, and thankful for God for not allowing the damn North Koreans ( sorry Alex) for not invading the south, since my Aunt's in there, though I don't know where, but I gues she's in the Parralel

Did I not say to be civil??? stare Animosity=bad, okay? Very simple concept!
To add on....I feel blessed that the only thing I worry about at times is when to be able to finish a research paper or how to get enough money to go to the movies and not have to worry about the safety of me, my friends, and family each and every day. To be able to pay for food and clothes and even have a car. Thankful that I am allowed to disagree without being afraid of being shot for it later.
Pantaliamon, I especially like what you wrote. I didn't really think of it like that before sweatdrop .
