I thought they were just connected, virtually.
I didn't really think that they were feeling anything but just that they got a new look in life as in a program or something....

Nah, just like quite a few of CLAMP's stories, the end result of Chobits was left open-ended to let everyone enjoy their own interpretation of what finalized the series.

Interesting way to put it. I was kinda of the opinion that the other persocoms could love and feel like Chii could...and that's it, really. That's really open-ended too, I know.
