This is the story of Sin and Gin (yes...we know...their names rhyme)
Sin was trapped in the "Gate of Truth" for 700 years. In the gate he didn't age so for 700 years he never aged, and during that time his body forgot how to age. Now, 700 years is a long time, and he was alone...so as time progressed he began to feel the need. So now, as a result, he's become a pervert.
Gin is an average alchemist, her Transmutation circle is tatooed on her stomach. She won't admit it, but she has a crush on Sin which grows over time as she sees his many sides.
They met in a bar, Sin had gotten a tad bit drunk, it was his first night free from the gate, and was flirting with anything that had a heartbeat. Gin took pity on him and took him in for a while. And a while turned into 3 monthes, which turned into almost a year.

Capter One: Kidnapped

"He's not coming," Gin mumbled.
"He will, we have you." The tall, well built man the had kidnapped her said once again.
"Sin cares only for himself, he won't be coming for me." Gin repeated, she was too tired to fight with this guy.
~
" I can NOT believ i am doing this." Sin glared at the dark house that Gin was held in. "GIN!!!" he yelled, kicking down the door. Already he had three men sprinting towards him. "Don't Piss Me Off!!!" His eyes flashed red, as small balls of fire appeared in his hands. He trew the flame balls at two of the men leaving the last one still running at him. Sin side stepped and let the mans fist go through the wall. "Imbicile," he muttered, Sin pulled the man up by the collar of his once white tee-shirt and demanded, "Where is she?!?!?!"
"Uh...up...upstairs...the only r-room on the right..." the man stuttered.
"Good, stay here." he threw him against the wall, not realizing that by doing this he had completely knocked him out.
"I told you he would come." The largely built man said.
Gin looked at the wall, tugging her knees closer to her chest. Why did he come? She thought. Seconds later Sin was kicking down another door. He completely ignored the kidnapper and went over to Gin.
"Are you ok?" He asked.
She looked into his eyes, "I'm fine, he didn't hurt me except maybe a bruise."
"Good, but we need to talk....later, for now..." he cracked his knuckles and turned to the kiddnapper. "I have to deal with you."
~
"Why did you come for me?" Gin demanded.
"...I save you and that's the first thing you say???" was Sin's response.
"Maybe i didn't want you to come...i could have easily gotten away had i wanted to."
"I know and when you didn't I came after you...once dead..."
"always dead, I know..."
Sin moved in front of Gin..."Then why? I have constantly beaten this saying into you...you only get one chance to live. I know that...I've seen..."
"I know I know," Gin cut him off, "You'e told me a million times..."
"Then stop being so emo..."
"I'M NOT EMO!!!" Gin yelled, then she finally stormed off.
"She's so hot when she's mad," Sin sighed

Chapter Two: The Gate; Nightmares

"Sin, I'm gonna go to bed now..." Gin came out a towel wrapped in her hair, a fesh set of clothes on. But her breath was wasted, Sin was already asleep. "I guess it wasn't you who made the rustling noise while i was bathing," She murmered, "Maybe it finally was an animal." Gin sat down across from her sleeping compainion, leaned against a tree, and propped an alchemy book open on her legs. Some light reading before she fell asleep.
"Don't close the gate!!!" Sin mumbled, then rolled over in his sleep.
"Hoenhiem?" Gin looked over her book...not only was Sin talking in his sleep he looked...almost scared. "Sin? Are you okay?" She asked, softly shaking him.
"700 years..." A tear fell down his cheek.
"Sin! Wake up! You're scaring me!" Gin shook him harder.
"Eh?" He jolted up, "Whatsa matter, Gin?"
"You...were having a nightmare..."
"You've been thinking of me?" Only one man in the world could make that line sound weird...unfortunately it was Sin who had the powers of perveretedness.
"UGH! You were scaring me! There's a complete difference!!!" Gin yelled at him.
"Ok, I'm sorry for scaring you, is that better?"
"I guess so," Gin muttered.
"She guesses so..." Sin said to himself, "why can't she ever be 100% certain about anything?"
"Sorry for bothering you" She said, returning to her reading.
"If it's you it's not a bother." Gin looked over her book twice before she decided she had made herself think he'd said that.
"I'm hallucinating, great i'm going crazy...well, that or Sin's sick, which i highly doubt..." Even though she'd assured herself it was just a halluciantion, she'd peak over her book every few minutes to see if he was ok. I can't consentrate! This is all Sin's fault!... She looked up once more before shutting her book and going to sleep, and sure enough he was mumbling again. This time she didn't wake him...he'd either forget about it...or she'd some how end up making it worse.
"I don't wanna go back...please i just got out...."
"Stop." Gin whispered, moving closer to Sin. "You're not going back. I'll do everything i can to make sure of that."
"They won't be stopped."
"They will," she whispered, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and tugging his head into her lap, "You won't let them take you back, I believe in you." She kissed his forehead, "You have the will to stay away..." she yawned...."But i don't have the will....to stay...awake..." And she fell asleep, ignoring the fact that his head was in her lap...and all the things he was gonna say tomorrow.

“Wow, what a great nap!” Gin stretched as she woke up feeling mighty refreshed. Then she saw Sin smiling on her lap looking up.
“I slept well too.” Sin said as he gave her a wink.
“Yuck, off me pervert!” She shouted as she dropped his head to the floor. He then looked up and smirked.
“I don’t remember getting on you lap,” He grinned, “How do you suppose I got there?”
“That’s not the point!!!” She said as she hit him across the head!
“Ouch! Why are you so angry?”
“Why you so perverted!”
Sin then grabbed Gin’s hand and began massaging, “Why do you deny the feelings?”
“Why don’t you let go of my hand.” She said as she glared.
“Why not tell me how I got on your lap.” He raised his eyebrow at her and sneered.
She began to blush slightly. “Will you freaking drop it?!”
"It was just a question...geeze."
“Well, we should get going.” Gin gave out a long sigh, then she and Sin began packing their stuff.

Sin couldn't stand the silence, "Will you say something?" he yelled
"You just said something for me." Gin muttered
"Are you still mad at me?" he asked.
"Slightly......"
"Well, stop, you know I had just woken up maybe a mintue before you....I didn't want to move because I thought it might wake you up. And you look kinda cute when you're asleep, very relaxed." Sin smirked, and looked out at the passing scenery. "You look prettier with your hair down," he said absent mindedly.
Gin ignored his comment and looked away blushing, "were almost there," she murmered
He sighed, thinking what he'd said had no effect on her.
"welcome to Crushin City...." Gin said, looking down at her map.
"Famous for their BEAUTIFUL WOMEN!!!" Sin finished her sentence.
"Oh god," she sighed. "This is going to be hell."

"Lets go!" Sin shouted as he ran inside the nearest bar.
Gin sighed and gave a glare, "I know what he's doing already."
As she walked in the bar, her face grew red with anger. Sin was flirting with two girls in each arm.
"You lady's should consider a drink, or a husband." He winked at the girls as they all giggled.
"Get over here!" Gin yelled with rage.
"Never!" Sin let go of the girls and jumped on the second floor real fast, then he grinned and waved to Gin.
"You're such a jerk!" She cried out.
Sin started to run room through room, running from his painful fate. He giggled and closed his eyes for a moment, thinking how easy it was. Then he opened his eyes to a half naked girl in a towel.
"Oh....crap!" Sin mumbled as he runs into her.
Falling between her breast Sin says silently, "hello..."
The girl gave out a huge scream that sent the door of the room flying!
"What the hell Sin!" Gin angrily yells.
Sin releases himself from the girls unwanting grasp.
"It's not how it looks!" Sin raved as he waved his arms in defense.
"Yeah right..." She said coldly as she walked away.

“I’m sure,” Gin crossed her arms at breast level and tapped her foot impatiently.
“Jenny!” Two men, one younger, one older ran up the stairs; Sin still hadn’t moved. Suspense held in the air as everyone took their own view of the scene before them.
Sin saw gin, and the lecture/beating he was going to receive.
Gin saw two guys, assuming they’re either friends or relatives of ‘Jenny’, and Sin on top of poor ‘Jenny’.
The younger man saw a stranger on top of his sister, who was wrapped in a towel.
The older man saw his daughter and some man on top of her…
“Sinister!” Gin hissed, “get off her right this instant!”
“Jenny, are you okay?” Her brother rushed to her aid.
~
Here we go again. Gin sighed, and looked at Sin, You’re lucky you’re so cute…
“Ok, you’re her brother, Jeremy, and you’re her father, Dale, and you own this establishment, correct?” Gin clarified.
“Yes,” Jeremy said.
Her and her big words, Sin thought. He’d been ordered, by Gin, to stand in the corner out of the way.
“I’m sorry, I really am…You don’t know how badly I feel about this,” she looked back at Sin, her eyes daggers. If looks could kill, he’d have been sent straight to hell. “Is there anything I can do for retribution?”
Wait, Sin needed a moment to think about what she’d said, ‘what can I do for retribution’ not we, or him, or my companion, I?
“You can keep that pervert away from my sister!!!” Jeremy said angrily.
Gin sighed again, and spoke, her voice calm and clear. “Of course sorry for any problems we may have caused.” She stood from her seat and nodded for Sin to exit before her.

“Look, I’m really sorry. I honestly didn’t mean for that to happen. Please, Gin, don’t be mad at me.”
He was all but begging for her forgiveness, but on the other hand his face between ‘Jenny’s’ breasts…she was jealous. Since she was lost in thought she hadn’t notice Sin move in front of her and stop…needless to say, she ran right into him.
He wrapped his arms around her and laid his cheek on her head. “I’m sorry,” He whispered.
No need for your romanticism, my heart is already yours. But it’s hard to tell you…when so many others fawn over you. I’m one in a million. She thought. “Where do we sleep?” she muttered.
“Where we do every night, under the beauty of the night sky; except you’ll be under a tent. I don’t want anything to happen to you,” Sin kissed her head lightly, and then laughed.
“UGH!” Gin pushed him off, “You’re impossible to live with!” But I can’t live with out you. She finished silently.

Sin opened his eyes from the dead of night. He started to feel something bad, something was coming.
Not to far a mining cave explodes from a top the mountains of Crushin City!
“No!” Sin began to run to the cities aid. Slowly Gin woke from her sleep, noticing her friend, her… “Love” missing.
“Sin?!” she yelled as she saw him running into the city.
“Get back, Gin, It’s too dangerous!” Sin yelled, pointing to the rock slide.
But it was too late...The rocks were already closing in on the Bar, men, women, children and Gin. She froze with fear, and grabbed Sin’s hand as she watched the rocks come. A tear came from her eye knowing how much suffering this rock slid would cause.
“Don’t worry Gin,” Sin wiped the tear from her eye, “I will protect you.”
Sin gently pushed her out the way, then walked in front of the town and in the way of the on coming boulders. Gin wondered what he was doing! He closed his eyes and kept walking closer to the sliding doom.
Then something amazing happen! Sin opened his eyes and the rock turned into petals, beautiful, white petals. Then they began to dance around the the city, and encircled Gin as Sin wrapped her in his arms.
“You were worried about me?” Sin smiled.
“Of course I was.”
“I’m sorry I made you worry.”
“It’s ok now.” Gin whispered as she drew her face closer to his.
“You’re my hero!” Jenny came out of nowhere and jumped on Sin before they could lock lips. Then Gin's face turned red.
“Wait! It’s still not what it looks like!” Sin shouted in defense.
Gin began to stomp away, to the next town. As she walked, she smiled and blushed slightly, knowing she almost had her chance.
Running from Jenny, Sin screamed, “Don’t leave me here!!!”

In his dream Sin found himself yet again inside The Gate of Truth. He already knew he was stuck…so he punched at the door. He punched, and punched, and punched, and continued punching even when his hands starting bleeding. “Open the damn gate!!!” He yelled to the dark abyss. And, the gate opened. Sin was thrilled, but remained on high alert. Than monster was the type to set him free in a home that wasn’t real. Just another gate. But he stuck his hand out and pulled it back in. White flakes of snow were stuck to his hand, but quickly melted. This has to be the real thing…He thought. Still being cautious he stepped out into the snowy weather. It fell in gentle flakes the bitter chill bit at his bare feet, but he didn’t care. He was free…there would be people and food!
And the second he thought of food, he realized he was hungry. Hungry felt good after 700 years. Sin walked in the cold for a while, until he came to the conclusion, hungry wasn’t a welcome feeling. It was very irritating and persistent.
“Who’s out there?” A timid female voice called.
He moved closer to the voice, but fell down into the snow. Seven hundred years, Sinister, you need to ease back into society, the b*****d was still alive after all.
“Is somebody…” The girl almost tripped over Sin, she gasped, her blue eyes filled with shock, “Are you okay?!?!?!” With no response, she guessed that was a no. “Um….”Gin looked down on a half naked man, she gulped. The fourteen year old version of Gin had shorter hair and larger eyes; she was wearing a light blue parka and white winter tights, with matching snow boot. She flushed red…he had no shirt…his pants were worn out…there was practically nothing covering him. “YOU COULD GET FROST BITE AND CATCH YOUR DEATH OUT HERE!!!”
Slowly Sin opened his eyes, "Come on, you're not going to get any better if you don’t eat anything" It's that girl from before. He thought. A spoon touched his lips softly and warm soup poured in.
"Hey!" She said, still softly, but more excited, "You're awake."
He slowly opened his mouth, almost like it was hurting him, “Why?”
“Because I can,” She got mad at his ungratefulness, “Now shut up and eat!”
He slowly grabbed her hips and pulled her closer.
“Thank…you.” He grinned at her.
”Ugh! Pervert!” She said as she punched him across the room!
Sin slowly woke from his dream. He was encrusted into the wall.
“Owie?!” He moaned with confusion.
“Stop touching me in your sleep!” Gin yelled as she blushed.
“Why didn’t you wake me?”
“I did!” Gin cracked her knuckles
"Oh..." He mumbled, his eyes closed in excruciating pain, "ok..." then he fell from the wall, landing with a small thud.

Gin slowly went back to sleep as Sin attempted to get up.
“What an unreal punch!” Sin whispered to himself.
He started to lie down near her, not getting to close this time. Close enough to see her beautiful blue hair run down her back.
God I wish I could touch! Sin thought with anger. But with respect went back to bed. He then saw himself dancing with her, holding her hands in his. He began swinging her from left to right. He couldn’t help but feel something special about her. Then she dropped into the snow and slightly rolled away from him. But he crawled after her and hugged her from her back.
Sin smiled to himself. This dream had a good ending. He was holding Gin close, resting his chin on top of her head, not realizing he was doing this also in real life.
Gin woke instantly and almost slammed Sin into the wall again, but she couldn’t do it when she saw his face. He looked peaceful. I can’t, she thought, Good Night, Sin. She kissed his cheek, praying he didn’t wake up because of it…after all she wasn’t the pervert here.
Sin and Gin both woke up with a quiet yawn, then Sin saw were he was at and expected the worst. Gin, knowing he was awake, froze with slight embarrassment and kept still, hoping he would think she was still asleep.
“So…why don’t you say something?” Sin grinned
“Ok! Get off!” She elbowed him and stood up quickly.
“What did I do!?”
She started walking off with a blush. She accepted him there, but she didn’t expect him to know. He began to rub his cheek. He felt something happen, something that hasn't happen his whole life. He felt a kiss from someone who loved him. So he began to chase her, but she was no were in site.
Nothing, she was gone? He went back to the camp and saw a note.
Bring us money or the girl is dead
The Nerco-bandits.
Sin was angry, but kept his cool and began to run into the woods. After a good hour of running he came across a large camp. The moment he saw the first guard…something happen. His mind and body started aching with anger…his eyes started to blacken and he became enraged!
He began to rush at the guards!
“Halt, don’t…” before he could finish Sin had already ripped his throat out.
“I am Sin, that doesn’t forgive you!” Sin rushed inside killing all in his way with a single strike. His blows seemed to crush bones and crack heads.
Gin then saw him come in, he was different, this wasn’t the Sin she knew and loved. This was someone else.
“Ah…you come to watch her die?” The bandit leader said holding his knife, which was once a stick, at Gin’s throat.
“FOOL!” Sin appeared in front of him and ripped off both his arms.
“God, please don’t kill me!” The leader cried in fear.
“There is no God to help you!” Sin grabbed his throat and crushed it into his hands.
Then Sin looked at Gin, who had been crying in fear.
“I am so sorry Gin” He said as he began to regain sanity.
Then he noticed something, her hair was cut. He was so close to slitting her throat he managed to get her hair before his death.
Gin remained motionless, “why?” she mumbled.
“It’s my job,” Sin replied, “They had tried to bring a human back. As keeper of the gate I have to keep the balance between the worlds.” He couldn’t bear to look Gin in the eyes. Her hair was short now, her eyes shrouded with uncertainty, and she looked battered, beaten down by life. He noticed she was on the verge of tears. “Please don’t cry.” He looked down at the blood on his hands, “Do you despise me for it?”
“No!” Gin said appalled, “I’ll admit I’m scared. But, Sin…” she bit her lower lip and thought about her words. One deep breath, then she continued, “I love you, and it tears me apart to see you so mad, then you killed them. I know you did it not only because you were obliged to.”
“Shhh…” He moved to be in front of her, “I love you, that’s what I wanted to hear. I daydreamed about you saying that, and, let me tell you, it sounds sweeter when I’m really hearing it.”
She took his face into her hands, “I love you, Sin,” she said softly.
At this point he couldn’t stop himself from pulling her into his arms, from pressing his lips against hers, from letting his hands slide down to her thigh, and from pulling her closer and kissing her with all the passion of seven hundred long years. And when he pulled away, he softly whispered into her ear, “I love you, too.”

“Sin, can we please leave? This place is kind of creepy…” Gin said with fear obvious on her face.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered.
“It’s fine, really, but I really want to get out of here.”
“Ok, but did they hurt you AT ALL?”
“Well, I have some bruises…maybe a scratch or two…and my hair obviously.”
“Yeah, I saw that.” He said through clenched teeth.
“I should have fought back,”
“No, you did good,” he kissed her head, “They only would have hurt you more.”
“Leave…now…please…?” Gin repeated.
“Come on,” He grabbed her hand and led her through the halls.
She looked around at the men, blood everywhere, laying there no movement was ever going to come from their bodies again. “Why?” she whispered again.
“I’ll admit I let my mind wander, I thought the worst,” He said.
“I feel so weak,” She mumbled.
“You’re stronger than me,” He said with a laugh. “At least you didn’t go ballistic and kill everybody.”
“Sin, what were you thinking?”
“I was thinking, ‘am I in time? Please, God, let her be ok.’”
Gin moved closer to Sin and gripped his arm tighter as she saw the guard. Sin looked over at him, taking note that his throat was still bleeding from when he’d ripped it out. “Um…did you do that?” she asked.
He stayed silent until he absolutely couldn’t bear it. They were outside and a few hundred yards from the camp when he lost it. He fell to his knees and put his hands to his face.
“Sin?” Gin stopped walking and knelt beside him.
“I meant to kill them, not like that though…” He said.
Gin put here arms around his shoulders; there was nothing she could say, so she let him continue.
“They had you, Gin, I couldn’t just be idle. Something inside me got so…angry…I didn’t know, and the uncertainty was killing me. I just needed a quick way to get to you…”
“Sin look at me,” Gin demanded.
When he looked up there was a slight trail of tear down his cheeks.
“I love you, I’ve known for a long time. The way you took care of me when I first got free from the gate, you didn’t even know me, and…and…the way that you get so mad when you see me with other girls. Don’t deny it…”
“Sin, be quiet…” She demanded again. “I love you, and I get it, and you love me too, you really don’t need to tell me everything you like about me…”
“There is a lot…” He muttered.
“Please don’t cry,” She whispered, moving his hair out of his face, “You look like a sissy.”
“I do not!!!” He rose instantly and wiped any tears that were still on his cheeks, “Come on.” He took Gin’s hand in his, and pulled her to his feet as if to show his manliness.
“I guess you don’t…”
“You guess?” He asked, stupefied by her words.
“Yeah, I guess…” He lifted her off her feet, and held her in his arms bridal style.

“Are you still guessing?” he asked, sort of irritated.
“No,” She said with a soft giggle, “I’m not.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and let him carry her back to their camp. They still hadn’t packed…and if they wanted to make it to Horocruse by nightfall they would have to leave soon.
~
“Sin, keep up,” Not even ten minutes into the trip and she was already nagging him.
“I’m coming,” he sighed, her hair wasn’t up in a ponytail right now, it couldn’t be in a ponytail anymore, unless it grew back in the next 30 minutes. But that was highly unlikely. Gin had tried to play it off cool, but he saw through it.
“Your hair…” he sighed.
“It’s fine!” She’d said reassuringly. “You know I’ve been meaning to get it cut. Besides, now that it’s getting hotter having hair that goes past my neck would be a hassle.” She’d smiled and went back to taking down the tent as if nothing had happened.
“Sin!” The real version of Gin was in his face, not just one recreated by his memories. This Gin looked irritated, must have been calling his name for a while.
“Yes, Gin?” He asked, not looking at her face. He was still mad about her hair…
“You seem upset.” She cocked her head to the side, as if examining him from a different angle would help her figure out what was wrong.
“Just thinking back…” He mumbled.
“I said stop…” She said sternly, looking away.
“I can’t, sorry Gin.” There was a moment’s silence, “You’re hair…”
“I KNOW ALREADY!!!” She exploded. “YOU DON’T LIKE IT!!! DON’T THINK I DIDN’T NOTICE…EVERY GIRL YOU’VE EVER TRIED TO PICK UP HAD LONG HAIR!!!”
“You were paying attention?” He asked.
Gin’s face grew to be a deeper shade of red… “GO AWAY SINISTER!!!” she yelled, sprinting past him.
“Damn it,” He mumbled, “GIN!” He began to run, despite all the stuff he was carrying, after her. Gin all but collapsed from exhaustion, she tripped over a rock and scraped up her knee. “Bloody…Gin, stop trying to run.” He finally made it to her side, “Ok, first we take care of your knee…” Gin wouldn’t look him in the eye once while he tended to her knee. “Why are you avoiding me?”
“I’m not avoiding you,” She said, still not looking him in the eye.
“Don’t lie, you won’t look at me…and Gin, I don’t love you for how long your hair is…though I did like it…but it’s not the hair on your head…it’s the life in your eyes. The love, that’s why I love you, there’s a light in your eyes…and I love it.” He put his arms around her shoulder, resting a hand on the back of her head, “I guess you could say I’m in love with the inside, though the outside is nice,”
I should kick you for that, Sin. She thought, “So, you don’t hate my hair?”
“It suits you just fine, dear. Please stop crying, tears are one thing that don’t suit you.” Sin whispered.
Gin wrapped her arms around his neck, “We have to get to Horocruse.”
“Way to ruin a moment,” he whispered, still clutching her back. He let go of her and kissed her cheek. “But, do you understand Gin? I love YOU…not your hair.”
“I understand,” She pulled back slightly, to his face. “I love you,” She said, softly kissing his lips.
“I love you more,” He said teasingly, kissing her back.
“Horocruse!” She reminded him, impatiently drawing back.
“I know, I know, can I have one more kiss?”
“When we get to Horocruse, sure I’ll kiss you all you want.”
“Why not now?” Sin moaned childishly.
“Because…we have to get to Horocruse…it’s going to rain soon, and I don’t wanna be caught in the rain Sin.” She gripped his hand tightly in hers, “Let’s go! We don’t have all day!”
He laughed and let her lead the way, since she had the map memorized and not him.
~
“OOH! Look Sin!” Gin pointed to the horizon where the sun was setting. “Isn’t it pretty?” She asked.
“Not as pretty as you.” Sin smiled and pulled Gin into his arms. “Dance with me,” He whispered into her ear.
“There’s no music,” she said skeptically.
“Be silent and listen, you’ll hear it,” He whispered again.
She stood still, held her breath, and listened. While she stood there Sin took her left hand in his right, moved her left hand to be around his shoulder, and puller her closer by moving his left hand to her waist. Gin opened her mouth to object, but he silenced her, pressing his lips softly against hers.
“Stay silent,” He whispered, pressing his forehead against hers. Grudgingly, she kept silent and Sin moved to a slow paced beat created by the wind blowing something against a hollow tree stump. He hummed a familiar tune to Gin; it was an old lullaby from a foreign land Sin had visited.
“There once lived a man In a far away land,” Gin sang with his humming, “he’d sing of the trees and the leaves, He sang and he danced with stars from above, he did it all for his far away love, once the man grew wise and bold, his bride to be, wife, both grow old.”
“You know that song?” Sin asked when she’d finished.
“My mother sang it to me when I was little, I always used to dream I was the girl in the song…but you don’t age, so there’s no growing old together…” she gave a small, sad, laugh.
The sad laugh she let out gave Sin a sinking feeling. He knew what she thought; that he’d been in the gate so long his body stopped aging. But that was a lie, a cold, bull faced lie, and he knew it, he knew he couldn’t age past twenty. And he beat himself up that he never told her the truth, always putting it off to “tomorrow” or the “next day” but still those days didn’t come.

For a second he hugged her tighter, praying to any god he could think of that the moment wouldn’t end. But eventually he had to let go of her, no matter how much he hated it. “Gin, I love you.” He said before pulling away, keeping hold of one of her hands.
“I love you too, Sin,” She smiled, squeezing his hand.
“Let’s get to where ever…Horocruse…or that funny named town,”
Gin just smiled at him, pretending she hadn’t said the fifteen times already, and walked along beside him her hand in his. Slowly as they walked sheets of rain came down on the ground. “Told ya’ so.” Gin said with a laugh, “I told you it would rain, we could be in Horocruse right now…in an inn of some sort.”
Sin just held her hand, making sure she was with him at all times and walked, listening to her complaints about the weather. Both of them were soaked through their clothes and to the bone when the innkeeper’s wife opened the door.
“Samuel, we have guests!” She yelled up a flight of stairs, “Please come in, you must be freezing cold.” She rambled on about the weather and how Sin and Gin were going to get sick when Samuel, an older man looking to be in his late 40’s came downstairs.
The first thing Samuel noticed about Sin and Gin was they were still holding hands, “Ah a set of love birds on holiday?” He asked with the accent of a purebred eastern, something his wife lacked.
“Kind of,” Gin replied with a small laugh. “Love birds is right, but we’re not on holiday, sadly enough.”
Sin had already fallen asleep sitting up, from packing and running all day, then listening to the innkeeper’s wife ramble on about illness and the sudden downpour. “If you’re not on holiday, why are you all the way out here then?” Samuel poured four cups of tea and placed them on a small coffee table in between two small sofas.
Gin took a sip of the herbal tea before continuing, “We’re on a trip, not a vacation…more of a mission, you could say.”
“Abigail, will you get the poor boy a blanket, he’s asleep already,” Samuel was a lot quicker than his wife, but Abigail happily replied and brought out a blanket to wrap Sin in. Sin just seemed to mold under the blanket. Just like him, Gin thought, falling asleep before we even have a room. Samuel and Abigail didn’t seem to mind Sin’s rude behavior and let Gin rent out a first floor- one bed- bedroom.
“Thank you again,” Gin said as her hosts whisked up the stairs to their own room, leaving her with Sin. She shook him gently, hoping it would wake him up enough to hobble into the room and fall asleep, but of course not, he was already dead to the world. “Sin, wake up. You only have to walk a few feet then you can pass out again, I promise.” She said softly.
He groaned and opened one eye to look at her, “I don’t wanna get up,” he mumbled.
“You don’t have to wake up!” She snapped impatiently, “Just stand and move 9 or 10 feet, then lay back down.”
“Oh…ok…” He stumbled up so he was on his feet and let Gin lead him into the room, strait to the bed. Sin almost collapsed onto the bed from exhaustion. Before lying beside him, she took off his shoes and placed the by the door, doing the same with her own. She didn’t bother to change into nightclothes and just fell asleep next to Sin. Before she fell fully asleep, she felt Sin move so his arms circled around her. What a good way to end a day…
